Do you work at SAIC? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?
Any advice for someone trying to get in?

What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?
How does SAIC stack up against the competition?

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at SAIC?
Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?
What is a typical day in the life of an employee at SAIC?

Specifically, is anyone familiar with the details/timeframe of following process as it relates to positions serving defense contracts?
1. COR Approval
2. Security Clearance Crossover
3. Technical Acceptance (from customer)
4. Open Billet
Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm fresh out of the military - was a linguist
I've been offered a job at SAIC in Bethesda MD for a position as a Geospatial Analyst. The salary is in the high 70s.
I've also been offered a job with another large consulting firm - Booz Allen Hamilton. This job is in Mississippi and involves curriculum preparation for new troops flying on a new platform. The salary is in the high 60s.
I'm really torn. Just from the interview process, BAH seems like a much better company. I interviewed with 5 different people who told me all about different aspects of the company and what my role would be, etc. etc. With SAIC, I interviewed over the phone with one person and was offered the job the next day. That makes me think it may just be a throw away job that they need to fill a position to get $$ from the government. Pay is less with BAH, but then the area is astronomically less expensive...but then it's also a Mississippi vs DC.
I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or any what-you-would-do-in-my positions - maybe other factors I might not be seeing. Thanks!

I worked for SAIC for 4 years and a little over 10 years ago I was fired SAIC. There was some leadership turnover that caused some bitterness in the office. As a result the work environment became a little hostile and in the mist of it there was some bad feelings between another co-worker and I and she left and before I could find another job I was fired.
Anyways, long story short my supervisor did not want to deal with it and let me go stating the reason as occasional tardiness and overall poor performance. (Prior to his taking over leadership all my performance reviews were good as was my “performance”.
All these years later I find myself at another base working for another branch and well after 5 years, they are relocating the mission to another state and we are all being laid off.
A co-worker that works for SAIC provided me a copy of a requisition from SAIC for a job I am qualified for and would be great at. He is offering to refer me and I have a couple letters of recommendation from current and former supervisors. Should I pursue this opportunity is would it just end in embarrassment and wasted time that could be spent pursuing a position with my current or another company?

My husband has an interview for an engineering position with SAIC. Can anyone tell me more about their hiring process? He already has an interview set up.
Where are their interviews conducted - at the job site or corporate in VA?
What is the length of time they usually take to hire on an engineer or employee for that matter?
Any complaints about the company or how they treat their employees?
Thanks a million!
