Public Information Assistant (Former Employee) – Stockton, CA – August 6, 2014
Working in the Public Information Office required working for everyone - the President, Board of Trustees, Division Chairs, instructors and students. The job entailed writing, editing, and designing in Pagemaker the in-house weekly newsletter, Staff Notes.
This position worked with individuals from all areas of the campus writing articles for promotional purposes as well as reporting on college news and success stories.
Press Releases and contact with local reporters was an integral component of this job. This included inqueries from the media and making arrangements for reporters to interview college personnel and students for articles.
Interacting with local media placing advertisements, designing ad copy and maintaining campus marquees for the college and the Theater Department and Box Office staff.
Other duties included proofreading the college catalog and assisting with mailing lists, leading student tours of the campus for high schools, providing informational packets to the public, and organizing and setting up special events as needed.
Enjoyed working with a variety of people everyday.
