Campus Supervisor (Former Employee) – San Marcos, CA – September 4, 2016
A typical day of work at San Marcos High School was to either to be a crossing guard in the morning before school starts or in the evening. Which entailed I would walk the kids across the street and help direct traffic through the parking lot. I had to efficiently plan timing on the cars coming in and out so that there was a constant stable traffic flow. During school hours my duties were to watch the second floor, build a rapport among students and teachers, report suspicious activity, bring kids down to the office, write up kids that were misbehaving, and deliver passes. The hardest part of my job was not having much to do when I was supervising the parking lot during school hours, I prefer to constantly have multiple things to do and just sitting and watching the area was a little tedious. The thing I liked most about my job was gaining the kids trust and respect. It was a rewarding feeling having the students come to me for help.
Wonderful children, Experience in Schools, Became a union member, Nice pay
A fun and amazing experience working for the school district.

A fun and demanding work place. Lots of students in our KOC program and was a good learning experience working with kids. It's amazing how much you can learn from kids and how much of an impact they could have on you. This place has made me better on being on my toes and alert while working.

Set up after school activities for students 1st-5th grade. Organize an agenda for students to follow as they came in to the classroom. Work and tutor students with any class work assigned. I learned that working with kids is a true blessing being able to help them and put a smile on their faces was all i could ever ask for. The staff I worked with was very enjoyable especially when working as a team. Their were no hard times in this job it was always a joy. Working with students and being able to help with their struggles in school.

This middle school is a very good school to be associated with, looking for full time employment is very hard, in today's society. Although I enjoy the children, my job and the responsibilities that I have. I would love to be employed full time and have more responsibilities. At this time that is what I'm looking for in order to provide for my family.

Great working with kids every day. Nice to build relationships with students and teachers. Hardest part of the job was getting students to move out of their comfort zone. Best part was seeing them succeed despite their efforts to prove they could not learn.

Working with children is one of the most exciting things one could ever ask for. I can't see anyone ever want to hurt children, when you hear about all the bad things that happen worldwide. It's sad to hear about it.
hearing children laugh and play...
not enough full time for those who want to work longer hours..
Kids On Campus (Former Employee) – San Marcos, CA – October 4, 2014
Work is Monday-Friday hour vary depending on if you are covering a shift. You can work up four to twelve hours a day. On a typical day I am in my classroom with a group of 40 students. My students this last year were third and four graders. When students get into class we take roll and they sit down quietly to work on homework for about 45min. Then we clean up and get ready for snack. we go outside to the playground for snack and are outside for 30min. Then we come back into the classroom for art. Art can take up to 30min. Then we clean up and do an outdoor group game with the kids and then we release them to outdoor free play for about 45min and then go back inside for an inside group game and then we do indoor free play and by then it will be time to go home and staff members will tidy up and clean the restroom and sweep the classroom and mop the classroom once a week. Then I make sure all the windows and blinds are closed and lock the rest of the classroom and leave for the day. Management was very great we were able to construct our own daily actives while also improving what the kids wanted to do on a day to day basis. But now the management has changed and isn't allowing any flexibility. It makes it vary hard to enjoy working with someone who only allows what she wants instead of taking ideas and working as a team. The hardest part is working with the new management, she doesn't like to communicate as much which can take a toll on the students understanding what is right and what is wrong. The most enjoyable part is the kids, they are the reason why I love my job. They makemore... me happy, and get me through my day. I know that if I could make a difference in these children lives I am willing to give my all for the kids.less
