Great job just not enough work for growth
Kids On Campus (Former Employee), San Marcos, CAOctober 4, 2014
Work is Monday-Friday hour vary depending on if you are covering a shift. You can work up four to twelve hours a day. On a typical day I am in my classroom with a group of 40 students. My students this last year were third and four graders. When students get into class we take roll and they sit down quietly to work on homework for about 45min. Then we – more... clean up and get ready for snack. we go outside to the playground for snack and are outside for 30min. Then we come back into the classroom for art. Art can take up to 30min. Then we clean up and do an outdoor group game with the kids and then we release them to outdoor free play for about 45min and then go back inside for an inside group game and then we do indoor free play and by then it will be time to go home and staff members will tidy up and clean the restroom and sweep the classroom and mop the classroom once a week. Then I make sure all the windows and blinds are closed and lock the rest of the classroom and leave for the day. Management was very great we were able to construct our own daily actives while also improving what the kids wanted to do on a day to day basis. But now the management has changed and isn't allowing any flexibility. It makes it vary hard to enjoy working with someone who only allows what she wants instead of taking ideas and working as a team. The hardest part is working with the new management, she doesn't like to communicate as much which can take a toll on the students understanding what is right and what is wrong. The most enjoyable part is the kids, they are the reason why I love my job. They make me happy, and get me through my day. I know that if I could make a difference in these children lives I am willing to give my all for the kids. – less

Happy days
Group Leader (Former Employee), San Marcos, CAAugust 26, 2014
Set up after school activities for students 1st-5th grade. Organize an agenda for students to follow as they came in to the classroom. Work and tutor students with any class work assigned. I learned that working with kids is a true blessing being able to help them and put a smile on their faces was all i could ever ask for. The staff I worked with was – more... very enjoyable especially when working as a team. Their were no hard times in this job it was always a joy. Working with students and being able to help with their struggles in school. – less

Great place to work
Instructional Aide, Special Education (Former Employee), San Marcos, CAMay 15, 2013
Pros: friendly staff, great school
Cons: no benefits
Great working with kids every day. Nice to build relationships with students and teachers. Hardest part of the job was getting students to move out of their comfort zone. Best part was seeing them succeed despite their efforts to prove they could not learn.

Exciting and fun
Campus Supervisor (Current Employee), San Marcos, CaliforniaJanuary 23, 2013
Pros: hearing children laugh and play...
Cons: not enough full time for those who want to work longer hours..
Working with children is one of the most exciting things one could ever ask for. I can't see anyone ever want to hurt children, when you hear about all the bad things that happen worldwide. It's sad to hear about it.
