Our company has partnered with Zagat to develop a new gift card product, offering savvy diners an easy way to visit old favorites and discover new restaurants, with a convenient gift card. We are hiring a team of Account Managers in Outside Sales in New York City – on a contractual basis (three months) with potential for growth into longer-term positions. These Account Managers will telecommute and participate in meetings around the city – you will be the face representing our company and Zagat.

An Account Manager in Outside Sales is part of the local sales team, working to prospect key restaurants through cold-calling and setting up face-to-face meetings before closing partnerships and signing contracts with new partners. Your mission will be to participate in on-site meetings at local businesses, engage with their owners and management groups, and walk prospects through our partnership steps. Successful Account Managers will be very independent and capable of managing their own work, client base and schedule.

Your job responsibilities

  • Use CRM software to manage and track your progress throughout duration of project
  • Prospect through cold-calling, establish contact with restaurant owners and management groups, perform follow-up through phone calls/emails/ meetings
  • Learn and effectively pitch sales speech to convert as many prospects as possible into full partners, develop extreme familiarity with partnership contract in order to field any questions from partners
  • Manage meeting schedule responsibly and arrive punctually
  • Meet weekly with your team leader for debriefing and strategy evolution sessions
  • Aggressively pursue your sales goals to ensure project completion

Your profile

  • You are extremely comfortable with cold-calling as well as face-to-face meetings
  • You are deeply driven by performance-based incentives, self-disciplined, and thrive on challenging objectives
  • You are equally comfortable interfacing with small-business owners and top-level executives
  • You possess superior organization, multi-tasking skills, strong negotiation abilities, and are effectively able to work independently with little supervision
  • You conduct yourself professionally in business meetings and are very comfortable delivering sales pitches
  • You have excellent client services, are capable of building strong relationships, and care about the satisfaction of your partners


  • 1+ year sales experience
  • Experience in restaurants considered a plus
  • Experience using Salesforce helpful
  • Excellent geographical understanding of New York City


  • Base salary + competitive commission structure with unlimited earning potential (median salary $62 000/pa)
  • Cell phone usage and transportation allowance
