Summary: The main duty of the Home Mortgage Consultant is to serve as a liaison between the members and the real estate team.

*Promote San Francisco Fire Credit Union as the provider for lending and other financial solutions. This includes promoting to real estate agencies, other referral sources, and members.
*Partner with real estate loan processor, underwriter, closer, and funder to ensure the seamless transfer of the loan application in order to provide documents to the processors and acquire any additional information needed by the processors and/or underwriters.
*Work with processors, closers and members to ensure the timely closing of the loan.
*Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of current rates and mortgage loan programs.
*Present a professional image, demeanor and communicate effectively with all parties.
*Meeting with members to obtain loan applications, explain application process, fees involved, and different programs available, etc.
*Analyzing perspective members’ financial status (income and debt) by obtaining required paperwork needed for loan submission and to notify member of credit report and appraisals ordered to determine feasibility of making a mortgage loan.
*Submitting completed applications and confer with underwriters to aid in resolving mortgage application concerns.
*Advising members of underwriting decisions, work with the member and underwriter ensuring all underwriting conditions are met.
*Coordinating loan closing, escrow signing, ordering of loan documents and assisting members in the closing process.
*Responsible for the input of complete and accurate loan application information while ensuring compliance to company policies.
*Responsible for rate locks, issuance of disclosures, overage/underage and fee waivers and communicate complex loan products.

Qualification Requirements:

*College degree preferred
*Two years plus in customer services or loan representative role is required conventional loan experience is desired
*Banking or home lending experience preferred
*Expert knowledge of lending products and services and pricing alternatives
*The ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives
*The ability to communicate with members about the proper documents and information needed to obtain a particular loan
*Knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA
*Self-starter who can work independently to work with existing partnerships and branches
*Strong relationship development skills
*Superior customer service skills
*Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Encompass and Outlook
*Basic ability to analyze personal and business financial statements
*Registration under the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required upon hire
