This newly created, highly visible position has been added due to our continued growth and business expansion! Reports directly to the VP of Collections and Customer Care!

Measures of Success Include:

Goal attainment – metric based objectives
Supports the department in achieving weekly, monthly and annual goals.

This position is responsible for facilitating and managing the personnel and work flow engaged in securing and remarketing of our collateralized assets (IE: cars, motorcycles). This includes leading and developing employees, improving metrics and minimizing loss exposure associated with these processes. All functions focus on mitigating risk and loss levels for SNAAC.

Role and Responsibilities

Asset Recovery

Actively participates and manages team and processes to:
Acquire and apply information needed to ensure successful repossessions;
Manage understanding of state law compliance governing repossession laws & required notices;
Facilitate work flow and follow up on coverage and quality requirements;
Consistently monitor and report on remote collectors activities.

Repossession Process

Actively participates and manages team and processes to:
Identify and submit recommendations for account placement with repossession agents;
Manage vendor relationships with repossession agencies for optimal results and cost controls;
Minimize loss prevention by employing compliant strategies that protect collateral;
Implement the complete repossession process once agent advises asset is secured.

Remarketing Process Oversight

Actively participates and manages team and processes to:
Transport of assets to secure location
Manage existing vendor relationships with repossession, service providers, auctions and repossession agents;
Identify, establish and develop relationships with vendors that will provide value in reaching the departments goals;
Achieve process improvements utilizing resources such as industry guides, condition reports and market and portfolio trend summaries;
Ensure timely liquidation of collateral with a focus on expense control;
Understanding insurance claims process and how collateral is managed;
Periodically attend auctions or monitor sales via phone, accepting or denying bids;
Negotiate vendor contracts with auctions or agents.

Other Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Manage and respond to complex accounts and escalated complaints within the operation; skip tracing, repossession and remarketing;
Direct work flow including
Initiate direct contact with borrowers,
Manage collateral location and valuation,
Develop a thorough understanding of SNAAC business and its functions, processes and operations,
Keep abreast of business and market trends that may affect department
Perform other related assignments / projects as requested by management


Education and Experience Requirements Include:

Bachelor's degree, or five+ years related work experience;
Two years experience in:
leasing experience (end of term), or
repossession experience, or
consumer remarketing experience, or
collections customer service/negotiation experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent attention to detail;
Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills;
Experience with skip tracing software
Experience working with local / state laws and regulations governing the repossession and sale of collateral
Demonstrated ability to provide direction and lead others

Expected to function at a high level while performing multiple tasks;

Excellent leadership and motivational skills;
Preferred but not required:


PC skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of utilized word-processing, spreadsheet, and departmental software
Experience working with asset valuation software and websites
