Our ideal applicants will posses not only the above technical skills but will be an ambitious, sociable problem-solver oriented toward task-completion. As much as we admire starry-eyed code-wizards who eventually come up with genius solutions to complex problems, we're at the growth-stage that requires a very strong “done is better than perfect” mentality. Experience is required though a formal education is not.
The cross-industry projects you will be maintaining, adding functionality to, innovating, etc, are our own. No client work done here; we are drowning in opportunity and the number of our own projects and properties we want to share with you reflect that. We pride ourselves on successfully navigating the bleeding edge of internet technologies which has allowed us the privilege of answering only to our own potential.
Since we do no client work, your wardrobe choices and working hours will be flexible, though remote/satellite programmers need not apply. Telecommuting is sometimes possible but 80% or more of our time is spent in our own customized offices--no cubicles here.
Sparing no expense in our quest for excellence is a large part of our present--and future--success. From the above-mentioned personalized offices in our historic downtown building to promoting your continuing education, we invest in ourselves. Know a bit about Django but haven't mastered it? We'll set aside paid time for you to learn. Need to burn off steam while working through a problem? Go on, go play foosball, relax in our zen room's amazing massage chair, take a nap in the hammock, play Halo on one of our two 60” LED TVs, and enjoy the endless supply of various caffeinated drinks (Keurig machines, green tea, Monsters, Red Bulls, etc). We want the best and are willing to do what it takes to keep the best happy and productive.
Additional perks are many. Free valet parking, frequent (free) meals at Crave, 3 Point, Urban Eats, and other locations, and, taking a page from Google's playbook, Free Fridays. On Fridays from noonish on, our team is asked to drop their to-do lists and work on something--anything for the company--they choose. Long-term additions, new projects, anything that will help us meet our collective goals is what we want you working on. Beware, though, Free Fridays often turn into free drinks afterward.
To apply, please send us an email with your experience, skill-set, and salary requirements. Our base pay is $20/hour but let your salary desires reflect your skills. Don't be afraid to tell us exactly how much you want to work and for how many dollars. While we would prefer full-timers, if your skill-set matches our needs, we are open to taking on part-timers. After we receive your information, we will conduct a phone/IM interview, then give you any number of small, paid test-projects to evaluate your problem-solving abilities, speed, and code efficiency. Large bonuses, raises, and promotions come quickly to those who add significant value to our new and ongoing projects. If you're an effective, ambitious problem-solver, you will find no lack of opportunity here.
