Completely unprofessional workplace
Database Administrator (Current Employee) –  Sacramento, CAMarch 7, 2015
There is so much rampant incompetence, power mongering and complete lack of vision at this district that is a miserable experience for all those who are unfortunate enough to find themselves involved. Not to mention the nepotism and complete disregard for any semblance of professionalism. Management is at the complete mercy of the union which makes any type of change there untenable.
Cons
Unrealistic deadlines and demands. Incompetence and lack of vision.

Substitute Teacher (Current Employee) –  Sacramento, CAAugust 18, 2014
A typical day, working as a substitute teacher consists of following the teacher's lesson plan, managing a classroom of teenagers, and giving instructions on the subject matter. The most challenging part of being a substitute would be keeping the students on task. The most rewarding part of the job is when a student is grateful for explaining a concept in a way that helps them understand it.
Pros
Flexible work schedule

Instructional Assistant (Former Employee) –  Worked all schools within the district.June 23, 2013
I worked with about 48 children per day. We had 24 registered in the AM and 24 registered ion the PM.I learned that we need to give these small children more credit. They may not have a name for their feeling ,but the feel everyone of them as we do.We manage children with TLC , respect and a lot of humor.Once you connect with a child, you have a BFF.The hardest part of the job teaching the children that everything is not theirs.Sharing is the way we get along with our friends.Getting to know the personalities is the most fun part of the job.
Pros
The children are exposed to another world than their own.
Cons
We do this job, not for the money.

Project Technician/Planning & Construction (Current Employee) –  Sacramento, CAMarch 4, 2013
This agency would be deserving of all the praise in the world, for their intentions, and willingness to advance educational facilities in CA., but unfortunately like many governmental entities the school district is structured in a way, which limits employee growth.
Pros
security, holiday, personal time, benefits
Cons
