I have worked at Safeway for 7 months now. I have been given 2 raises as a journeyman 2. I started at $7.75 and am now at $10.50. I was showed the union pay scale and it shows the raises go from $10.50 to $11.50 then to $12.50 then jump to $16.00 an hour. Does anyone know how long it takes to get to that point? The $16.00 an hour point....

Hi I have been working on safeway for 7 months now, and never did they pay me extra on sunday's i thought i wouldn't get paid extra unless i am a union member so i waited for the union to come and now that i am a union i got no sunday pay's at all how's that???? I asked our manager about it she told me it is under the new union contract that they don't have sunday pay anymore???!!! how true???!!! Imagine my weekly salary of 120 dollars minus the 28 dollars union dues and i don't get back anything?? grrrr!!!please feel free to reply.. i will be calling the HR AND UNION PRETTY SOON.

I have been working at Safeway as a courtesy clerk since January and will most likely resign end of July or beginning of august. I will be attending Lewis & Clark College in Portland next year but won't be able to work (will be playing football plus freshmen can't have car.). I will try to get a job at the local Safeway sometime at the end of 2012/beginning of 2013. Do I stand a good chance of getting rehired? (I am in good standing with the company, the manager likes me and I will give proper notice.). Also will my seniority carry over between now and then? Thanks
