internship
Copy Editor (Former Employee), Salisbury, MDJuly 15, 2014
I worked both as a paid employee and as an intern for Salisbury University. As a summer intern in the university's communications/PR office there wasn't much going on and therefore the work was slow-paced and often felt like busy work. I spent a lot of time mailing out mass press releases or making copies of media clips.
As an employee for the student-run – more... newspaper my job was completely self-motivated and centered around getting work done on my own time. I enjoyed the time I got to spend with other staff members and found that we each had very interesting ideas and collaborated well with each other. However, as a student, both of these positions were temporary and left no room for further advancement or opportunities within the university itself. – less

Good environment to work and learn
Chemistry Lab Assistant (Former Employee), Salisbury, MDJune 27, 2014
It is good environment for students to learn and work because the faculties are professors, so they have bosses right next to them. It is easier for them to ask questions about chemistry than other "class-attending" students.

Satellite Dining Associate (Current Employee), Salisbury, MDMarch 17, 2013
Pros: always stuff to do, steady amount of hours for a decent paycheck
Cons: can't get fulltime benefits or a raise beyond $10.20/hr. with this job.
I work on weekdays from 7am to 3pm on Mondays through Thursdays at one store. And on Fridays, I work at a different store from 10 to 3:30pm. My coworkers, supervisor and manager are nice, reliable, and understanding. Despite the long hours, work goes by really quickly once you get used to it.

LOVED IT
Graduate Teaching Assistant (Current Employee), Salisbury, MDDecember 24, 2012
Pros: office, stipend, freedom, flexible
Cons: shared office, demanding at times, low stipend compared to most schools
From Networking to socializing, this was honestly one of the best jobs I had ever had.

Staff was friendly and helpful. School was always #1 to them. Helped me to understand the inner workings behind school programming .

Hours ranged from 12-25 depending on how much work I had. If you are proactive, you should never get backed up. Hardest part is adjusting – more... to it with school but after that, it's like clockwork. Enjoyed being a teacher and sharing my knowledge with the future generations – less
