RUNNNNNNN!!!!
Admin (Former Employee), Nevada – April 4, 2013
Pros: a few trips to atlanta
Cons: favortism and nepotisim.
I worked for this company for almost 3 years. There was no room for advancement, they played little games if you were in the in crowd you were golden if you were not you were treated different! Being told more than once that my job was secure I was called into the office on my way to lunch and told that I was being laid off. For the next several months – more... I have gotten calls for "help" from the new person assigned to my old job duties. She is doing the work of 2 people and being paid for only one, they treat her like dirt which is why I have no issue helping her, but it pains me to help this company. Fair Play is one of their core values, they don't know the meaning of it!

The old service manager was a total jerk to work with, he was a tyrant but got away with it because his dad's friend was one of the big bosses, his dad also started Tamrock which was bought out by Sandvik, talk about job security.

There is a new service manager of less than one year who has lost 4 field service techs, does not seem like many? He only had 8 to start with. He has an immediate family member working under him and favors this person above all others. I liked my boss as a person he is great, as a manager he is terrible! – less

This was the toughest job I ever had.
Electrician/Assembler (Former Employee), Alachua, FL – March 20, 2013
Pros: big paycheck with lots of benefits.
Cons: 48+ hour weeks of hard, hard work.
This was a mandatory 48+ hours a week jobs with a lot of heavy lifting and extreme assembling. This company custom built mobile drilling rigs from the frame up. Lots of parts and instructions and every job was something new. I learned just how capable I really am. As an electrician, my work tended to be more technical than the rest of my team but I – more... was still expected to pitch in and help whenever needed. My most enjoyable moment, though, was probably the day I completed my first full wiring job solo with only to defects instead of the 20 or 30 that the other techs usually received. – less

Ran a cell of four to five machines at a time, some days with a partner others days alone.
Machine Operator (Former Employee), Seneca, SC – March 3, 2013
Pros: good people to work with
Cons: management
I worked with a very nice crew of people which I got along with very well. We would start off every morning getting a list of the jobs w needed to get shipped out first and set the mchines up for the rest of the day. I was acutally offered a chance to go to sweden to learn programing for the up coming software we were getting for a laser marking machines. – more... I also learned and re-organized gripper inventory and how to rebuild them from top to bottom. I could run two Camillas' which were laser marking machines using robotics they would laser etch and package the inserts, a Labella which with would lable the bar codes and part identifcation and info and push them into packing boxes that we would then lid and label with the outside barcodes. Also in our cells we hade a manual laser marking machine i could set up and this when i free time as well, and last we had an Else and we used that for traying inserts that needed to put into different trays. Management didn't really have a big part to with us unless something was wrong and then the department manager would step in. We hardly saw him other then those times. The most enjoyable part of my job was it would keep you busy if the work flow was up. – less

Great job poor management
Sales (Former Employee), Totowa NJ – December 18, 2012
Pros: great job and good pay and benefits
Cons: favortism and boys club poor management
I liked my job at Sandvik but management was very poor. There was a buddy system and if you are in the group you can do no wrong. After much frustration I called HR and got fired for doing so. They said that was not the reason but it was. I was told I was fired for not calling my manager back in a timely fashion. I called him a few hours later. During – more... the same time our service manager did not call a customer back for over a week, which is typical for him. My manager became angry because he wanted me to visit customer the service manager blew off which I did. I was there the next day in the afternoon but he wanted me there in the morning. The service manager who created the entire situation is still there and continuing the same actions. He gets away with it because he is part of the boys club created by management. I'm now faced with loosing everything because of the lack of response from the service manager. – less

Very productive company
Picker (Former Employee), Hebron, KY – September 6, 2012
Pros: healthcare, paid sick days, paid vacation days, and great pay per hour
Cons: mid-day shifts
A typical day at work required me to use ah RF scanning device and count by 6 and 12 while picking my orders. Once my order was complete my cart got sent to pack out to be packed, labeled, and shipped out. I learned how to count more efficiently and work fast paced. The management was great and very understanding. My co-workers were fun and very nice. – more... The hardest part of the job was keeping up my pace. The most enjoyabe part of the job was working with all my friends. – less

Simple work with little or no advancement
Purchasing Procurement Specialist (Former Employee), Brier Hill, PA – September 3, 2012
Pros: stable work but somewhat low pay
Cons: no 15 minute breaks and quite a boring job
This place never really showed any direction as to how one could advance. With a bachelors degree, it was easy to see that there weren't many positions to progress to other than engineering, which consisted of either young Austrians or old timers that were from WV. That being said, the company was moving to eliminate the WV engineers and proceed with – more... only the international engineering group. The positions at Brier Hill were largely based upon hands on roles such as welding and assembly of industrial mining equipment. The Brier Hill, PA location hired temnps to do purchasing, accounting and all other clerical roles. This location operated in the sense that they would close shop someday and unload their equipment through a local auction. – less

Structural Draughtsman (Former Employee), Bedfordview, Ekhuruleni – April 3, 2013
I believe in teamwork. In life you cannot know everything, you need to be a team player to achieve results.
I am always willing to go the extra miles to achieve my targets at work.
I have worked under pressure in a lot of instances & managed to finish my assigned task within the stipulated time.
I also believe that one's strength lies in knowing their – more... weaknesses, & by working around them one can achieve one's goals in life.
In some companies I worked for, I realized that some senior employees use harshness to hide their weaknesses.
In some instances the targets that I was required to meet were impossible.
Most enjoyable part of my job is seeing your completed drawing "ISSUED FOR CONSTRUCTION" – less

A good company with huge amounts of upside!
East Coast Sales Manager (Former Employee), Adelaide – March 7, 2013
Pros: good people and good products.
Cons: they hand out redundancies too easily!
Plenty of challenges with numerous acquisitions over the last 9 years and to see the benefits of these the company needs to integrate the new capabilities further to exploit this opportunity.

artisan (Current Employee), Mpumalanga/Badplaas – January 27, 2013

Cons: long hours
High pressure to get production with very old machines what I have learned is that one must make quick decisions.
As for my management team are very dedicated and supportive in helping to get issues sorted out.
I work with a amazing crew and always willing to help one another and back each other at all times.
The hardest part of my job is the fact we – more... work underground and the work conditions are stressful but the best part of my job is that I don't have weather problems and I am always learning some thing new every day. – less
