Not great place to work if non-native
Fisheries Biologist (Former Employee) –  Sault Ste. Marie, MINovember 21, 2017
Can be good place to work if you are native, non-natives should run and not work there. Your longevity is very short. I would not recommend working for Sault Tribe given the current board memberships.
Cons
small minded management, terrible board members

Nurse (Former Employee) –  St. Ignace, MISeptember 8, 2017
Worst place to work ever! I have never worked anywhere in my life where the goal of management is divide and conquer. Manager gave me a list of names to not speak to or trust the first week I was there, when low and behold the manager is the crazy one. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to ever go back. Don't expect to get help or advice from upper management, it's a fend for yourself place.
Pros
Paid holidays
Cons
Dont do a good job or you will be doing everyone's work

If you're native, its not bad
Data Analyst (Former Employee) –  Sault Sainte Marie, MIFebruary 8, 2017
The tribe has a native american or alaskan native preference on all applicants. You can marry one and get spousal preference but it's unlikely. My time with the tribe has been nice and my former managers are still close friends.

Horrific and terrifying experience!
Foster Care Case Manager (Former Employee) –  Sault Sainte Marie, MIOctober 15, 2016
I worked as a case manager for Sault Tribe. The supervisors are monsters. They are lazy, backstabbing, unrealistic hethan. I currently suffer from PTSD and have sought out counseling while working there due to the constant belittling and bullying I suffered while employed there.
