Wow, ok EASY..... I would love to hear the D.O.N and even the Administrator call the nurses and rcs' by their names. To stop and ask how their day is going? How or what can make their day a better one? Maybe stop and mention something that nurse/rcs did that day that makes them stand out, pay the employee a compliment and feel special.
I've been a nurse for 28+ years and a simple compliment, a praise and or maybe answering a call light, helping with a transfer or just listen for 5 min will help get your staff behind you.
Employees get tired!! I think I would be AWESOME for the DON and Administrator to stand at the exit doors and hand out ice cold drinks and say "thank you (name)" maybe every 2 weeks.
