I enjoyed working for Save A Lot the managers where strict and about business which also kept the job workplace in tact.

Although you would encounter irate customers daily, the management staff and crew always made the best of each day. Was an easy going workplace, with very friendly staff and easy promotions available.

A typical dauy at work is mainly spent on the register ringing up customers. I learned how to cut meat and desifer witch fruit was going bad. Management is ok they'll work with what you need. The co-workers are alwas fun to be around. The hardest part of the job is summertime getting carts from outside.

get there unload the trucks when they arrive, stock the shelves with the new products and then start cashing the costomers out.

Its work that all I can say............ but this company is not the best place to work. No union alot unfair practices. Slow or no chance of growth. No one under management gets full time or vaction time. Alot of paper work is filled out saying how you (the employee) have no rights to talk about practices outside of the job makes one feel like you are – more...  signing rights away to have a job.

This year they gave out vaction checks but a mistake was made and they made employees pay back vaction pay they were willing to give out. Which they take an hour of pay or more away from checks. Meetings that need to be attended on your days off or at times that your not schuduled to work . So one can be a no call no show on a day off.

But this could be a stepping stone for another job. – less

If your not running around trying to find a way to fix equipment the owner doesn't want to fix...your running around stocking cleaning ordering checking of customers...you don't have time to stand around there is always something to be done for little to no pay so you loss employees hand over fist cause if it slow you have to send them home they don't – more...  get enough hours to support their families...so it all depends on which store your at...check with the employees at the location before you apply – less

Typical day at work was straightening the store, stocking the shelves, and ringing up the customers. Also making sure they can find what they need. Management is ok at this store. The manager taught me a lot about management, doing deposits, stocking and paperwork, the co-workers were always enjoyable it was like a family.

Save A Lot is not a round the way job, it's only located in certain states and cities, i learned how to work the register i learned how to stock and unload truck and work a palet jack i had 13 employees i worked with, i have had my bad days at work when i wasn't feeling too good i have never had an enjoyable time at work work was work, only time i enjoyed – more...  was the break which i barely took. – less

I operated a cash register, check groceries, accepted payments, stocked when necessary, clean work area and restrooms. Also I worked in the Meat Department and Frozen Food Department.

Great company to work for started my career of 10 years at SAL

Exspected to maintain store conditions with little labor budget.

However liked interacting with customers

Very non-stop action. Daily assignments being carried out and meeting new people daily!

Company cares about emplyees and their personal lives as a whole.

Manager's are on the phone instead of doing there job, u call them for something they have an attitude like the cashiers can control the system from locking up.. just not a good place to work all and let me not to mention the lack of hours they give you.. it would be a blessing if you had one day on the schedule.

Working for Save-A-Lot was a good experience for me I enjoyed working for the company.

Has been a nice place to work over the last few years, but find myself unable to grow with the company. And i need growth for myself and famliy.

good place to learn how to cut meat and do orders. Must learn to maintain coolers and freezers because they shut down all the time.
