The Right Fit:
You are social media guru. Likes, comments, shares, re-tweets, and +1s make your day, but you also ‘get it.’ You know how to get the conversation going, cultivate the dialog, and build brand loyalty. You understand the difference between an audience and an engaged audience.
You have stellar writing skills, which include excellent spelling and grammar.
You are resourceful, creative, organized, ahead of schedule and possess superior communication skills.
You enjoy devising new ways to increase engagement on all social media platforms, while retaining the correct ‘brand’ voice [for more than one brand].
‘Multi-task’ is your middle name. You have the ability to switch between platforms, software and tasks with ease, using both sides of your brain at one time!
You understand, and are familiar with, the culture and the language of the automotive/racing world. BONUS: You have a passion for it; perhaps a background in it. What’s that? You spend your evenings/weekends in the garage working on your own project? Even better!
The Role: Social Media Specialist
It will be your job to handle the daily management of several Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Instagram and Pinterest accounts for multiple brands. You will be responsible for responding to fans/followers, developing and posting content, creating and managing content calendars, analyzing results and crafting monthly reports for client review. You’ll be communicating with the media team to coordinate content and social media ads on a regular basis. Most importantly, you will be responsible for making sure that fans/followers are responded to in the shortest time possible [with the best possible response], EVERY DAY, Monday through Friday. Consistency is key and crucial. Doing what it takes to get the job done will go a long way.
You must have a solid understanding of all social media platforms and have the ability to stay up-to-date with the constantly changing landscape of this medium. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are required.
Have you heard of Jalopnik, Autoblog or SPEEDHUNTERS? If not, you might not be the gear-head we’re looking for, because familiarity with automotive blogs, forums, websites and television programming is essential.
Must be proficient in the following:
- Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Adobe Acrobat
- Spredfast social media management software (or equivalent)
- Google Analytics
- Mac OSX
It would be awesome if you’ve had experience managing, posting or tweeting on behalf of brands – even better if that experience goes along with a passion for cars, motorsports, action and adventure.
