This Corporation operates, and/or owns Funeral Homes and Cemetary's across the US. A small hourly wage is paid to the Family Service Couselor and the commissions are fair. Mandatory phone calls, work hours, and formal dress clothes are all part of this job. Worked many hours when at end of big job was layed off due to hiring to much help to keep all employed.

Working here was something that I enjoyed, it kept me busy and I constantly learned new aspects of the job

Over all it is good, but does not have life insurance and short term disability.

The company I currently work for has good benefits and is a stable one, however, I have one life to live and it is too short not to try to work somewhere that I have always wanted to work at; the airport in ticket sales. I know that I would be great at it if given the opportunity to do so. I like the people I work with and it makes it enjoyable to see – more... my friends everyday. A typical day consists of stocking supplies, computer logs, answering phones, filing, exchange of cash, writing receipts, accounting ledgers, and listening to customer's concerns, (yes, complaints), and helping them out. It is a great job. The most enjoyable part of my job is dealing with people and helping them through a difficult time. Most of the people that I deal with are in mourning and so, it is crucial in this industry to be very empathetic and 'read' people well. Before this job as a receptionist, I was a bartender for 15 years, so, I have had a lot of experience in dealing with all different kinds of personality types of people. I am diplomatic and excellent in social dynamics and very good at diffusing situations when people's emotions are amplified.
I have learned from this job about different cultures, religions, and customs. I find all of it fascinating, because it is like going on a field trip, (so to speak), at work everyday. I have a great attitude and as long as I have that, then everything else falls into place. – less

This is a place where me as student could improve my skill as a registered nurse.

SCI,Inc. is a great place to work. My manager taught me so much in such a short amount of time and I'm so thankful I was able to take advantage of the opportunity to work for SCI,Inc.

My first manufacturing job. I enjoyed opportunities to evolve in responsibilities and experience. The benefits package is a leader in any industry.

A typical day at work: Would include serving families in need and helping them make the final arrangments for there loved one and hopefully helping them pre arrange for their future.

What I learned: I learned that what you say and do will impact someone for the rest of their life. Especially in one of the worst times of their lives.

Management: My – more... direct supervisor was great. The upper management are not so great. Alot of times we have to sacrifice the time with our family and loved ones.

The hardest part of the job: I think the hardest part of my job is when we have familes who just lost a child.

The most enjoyable part of the job: The most enjoyable part of my job is I get to make a positive impact on individual lives everyday. It's and unfortunate way that we have to meet, but I am here to make the process as easy as possible. – less

Working at SCI was more like being a part of a close family. We all enjoyed our work and worked together to do whatever task we needed to do.

Didnt do to much was only an Intern. I did mostly menial jobs like filing and running errands.

Work on a assembly line.
Learned to put together satillite receivers.

Typical day of work involved soldering of circuit boards for various things like computers, military equipment and washer & dryers.
I further enhanced my soldering skills with 2 weeks of schooling (required with company).
Management was knowledgeable.
There really wasn't anything too hard about this job.

My typical day started with answering customer calls and placing new orders in our system. The most enjoyable part of this job was the people.

Excellent Company! Great Managers, incredible home office support and wonderful professional development. Best place I have ever worked.
