Pros: i work from 7:30am to 4:30pm - i get an hour lunch. i have a 401k plan and health insurance.
Cons: for the coporation that i work for, it can be very disorganized and the health insurance benefits could be better.
The company I currently work for has good benefits and is a stable one, however, I have one life to live and it is too short not to try to work somewhere that I have always wanted to work at; the airport in ticket sales. I know that I would be great at it if given the opportunity to do so. I like the people I work with and it makes it enjoyable to see

A typical day consists of stocking supplies, computer logs, answering phones, filing, exchange of cash, writing receipts, accounting ledgers, and listening to customer's concerns, (yes, complaints), and helping them out. It is a great job. The most enjoyable part of my job is dealing with people and helping them through a difficult time. Most of the people that I deal with are in mourning and so, it is crucial in this industry to be very empathetic and 'read' people well. Before this job as a receptionist, I was a bartender for 15 years, so, I have had a lot of experience in dealing with all different kinds of personality types of people. I am diplomatic and excellent in social dynamics and very good at diffusing situations when people's emotions are amplified.
I have learned from this job about different cultures, religions, and customs. I find all of it fascinating, because it is like going on a field trip, (so to speak), at work everyday. I have a great attitude and as long as I have that, then everything else falls into place. – less
