Senior Accountant
A newly created Senior Accountant’s position will be responsible for direct supervision of all accounting and financial functions. Primary responsibilities include completing the monthly close process, monthly billings, collection of accounts receivable, supervising accounts payable, payroll, monthly reporting, monthly preparation of a forecast, annual preparation of a budget, assist in the preparation of quarterly tax projections and annual tax return preparation and all treasury administration. The Senior Accountant will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.
Essential Functions:
· Prepare an annual budget
· Prepare monthly financial statements and related footnotes
· Accurate and timely production of all financial information
· Preparation of work papers supporting the annual tax return
· Maintain fixed asset records including tax depreciation
· Coordinate physical inventory counts and reconciliations
· Maintain machine costing and pricing information
· Coordinate the preparation of annual tax return with outside accounting firm
· Implement a process to record transactions by department and compare costs incurred to budget and performance analysis of cost centers
· Review and record journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity using accrual accounting
· Preparation of work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
· Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
· Prepare monthly and year to date cash flow
· Prepare cash projections to effectively manage cash balances
· Oversee treasury management, including bank credit facility
· Calculate tax and performance distributions to partners
· Prepare monthly forecasts incorporating historical results and future assumptions
· Supervise payroll and payroll tax return filings
· Supervise the billing of all customers
· Maintain records and payables associated with EX-IM Bank and other insurance, retail or wholesale institutions.
· Maintain records for retirement accounts (i.e., 401-K Plan)
· Supervision of all accounts payable processed.
· Maintenance of fixed asset records
· Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
· Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
· Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
· Proper analytical review of the operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective
· Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

Education:
Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting
C.P.A. is required
Experience:
7+ years experience in accounting.
3+ years in a position equivalent to a controller with manufacturing company experience
Public accounting firm audit experience is preferred but not required
Skills:
Trustworthy, confidential, and understands the high ethical standards of a CPA
Understands internal controls and the required separation of duties
Ability to handle payroll including the conflicts that are associated with this responsibility
Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
Accountable for specific performance
Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
Able to handle multiple tasks and maintain control
Excellent GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
Exceptional work ethic
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise accounts payable, billing, and payroll
Hardware/Software:
Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint; and significant ERP system experience
Other Requirements:
Able to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex legal and financial information
Able to read and interpret agreements, then implement the relevant provisions of the agreements
Detailed, organized and communicative
Understanding, yet persuasive and decisive when dealing with others in the organization
Responsive team player with ability to quickly and prioritize among numerous tasks
Task and goal oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial environment
Able to prioritize and work with multiple supervisors and department heads
