A true great place to work!
Senior Human Resources Generalist (Former Employee), San Diego, CA –
I am looking to work at a place such as Scripps, which values employees and provides top notch HR services to them. I was lucky to have worked for such a great organization, but wanted to be back in NE for family reasons.

Great place to work
Discharge Planner (Former Employee), San Diego, CA –
Pros: great place to work
Cons: compensation
Can't provide any negative feedback for Scripps. While, I was an employee I enjoyed going to work every day. I worked with MDs and RN's. At times everyone gets stressed and curt with another. However, majority of my dealings was great. The only downside was the pay structure.

Dynamic and driven towards being the best at patient centered care
Buyer (Current Employee), San Diego, CA –
Pros: great culture, great group to work with
Cons: understaffed
Scripps is a tough axe to grind- the healthcare industry is undergoing intense changes at the moment, and no one has done a better job with the transition than Scripps. The culture is one of high expectations, but there is always reward in the form of benefits and shared appreciation and values with a group that comprises San Diego's second largest – more...  employer. – less

Senior Staff Technologist (Former Employee), Encinitas, CA –
Pros: a free lunch here & there
Cons: see above review, please
Mind you that this review concerns itself with Scripps Encinitas, not the Scripps system as a whole.

The radiology manager @ Scripps Encinitas is one of the worst, weakest managers I have ever had the displeasure of working for. He is retired form the Navy and treats his workforce as if her were still in the military.

He likes to surround himself – more...  with females who hang on his every word. If you are a military wife or had a husband in the military, he will hire you regardless if you can be an asset to the department.

And usually these people are not.

If you make any sort of suggestion (& not in the circle of power) said suggestion will most likely be paid no attention. Even if you witness a fellow employee do something wrong & bring it to his attention, nothing will be done about it.

But if you are not in his favor, then he will do everything in his power to make the rest of your working days there absolutely miserable.

I had to pick up the slack on more than 5 occasions. & that's putting it lightly.

But then again, nothing makes one look good by working with sub-standard co-workers.

On the whole, stay away form this place. It's the island of misfit healthcare workers. – less

This post was put up by Scripps Health. They have an annual survey every year titled "Great place to work" Survey they coerce the entire network to complete. Its a scam. I worked for Scripps for over 5 years and I believed their scam for the first year. After that things started to surface. I wouldnt doubt if this post was placed here by their HR recruiters. And by the way, their HR is completely dedicated to the Scripps system and not there for the employee as they so often state. Please consider yourself warned. I had to file a charge with the EEOC. I have been a unwilling participant in their questionable practices concerning the California Health Dept. and they constantly are in violation of JACHO standards. This place might have been a "Great Place to Work" but unfortunately it is the worst place to work. Until they change out the upper managment all the way down to the Unit managers, (with exception for a few departments) this place will continue to deteriorate. I have had the pleasure of working for MAGNET status hospitals and I know Scipps is still trying to obtain MAGNET status. I also know if they continue their current practices they will NEVER get MAGNET status. Since your probably looking for a job I highly recommend one of the other health systems such as Kaiser, UCSD, Sharp, or Alvarado.

I think its very suspect that both posts titled Great place to work are about 1 day apart from two different "people". Its also interesting that the top 2 positions Scripps HR is trying to fill are Patient Service Reps and Nurses. Please dont be fooled by this companies lies. This post was put up by Scripps Health.
