Excellent place to work!
EA of EVP Digital Advertising Sales (Former Employee), New York, NYNovember 6, 2013
Pros: tons of benefits.
Cons: long hours.
At Scripps, I was exposed to the inner workings of the media industry, i.e. Food Network, HGTV, DiY, Cooking.com, Travel Channel, GAC). The company culture there is conducive to a happy work day and professional growth.

Office Coordinator Temp Assignment (Current Employee), San Francisco, CAOctober 7, 2013
Pros: flexibility in schedule
A typical day includes a wealth of diversity in job responsibilities. Reception, mail distribution, data base management, correspondence, ordering supplies, office space and vendor management.

Co-workers are relaxed and creative software engineers. The hardest part of the job is to get the engineers to do their paperwork. t

The most enjoyable part – more... is the autonomy in allowing me to do my job without anyone looking over my shoulder or micro managing me. – less

Fast paced with frequent job priority changes
Senior Systems Software Engineer (Former Employee), Knoxville, TNAugust 2, 2013
Pros: diverse work force and freedom to set priorities of assigned tasks
Cons: emphasis on speeding up production at the expense of documentation for future maintenance
A typical day includes 2 meetings (google hangout) with off-shore teams. Most of my work was done in C# until a year ago when it was decided that there would be no more .NET development. Migrated over to Java originally implementing TIBCO and mule but moving to JBOSS.

Hardest part of job was supporting and revising previously developed code with little – more... or no documentation. Most enjoyable part of the job was designing and writing new software to automate important and error-prone tasks.

Most co-workers were friendly and professional although the last year a lot of work has been outsourced. I enjoyed the diversity of people but found working with off-shore teams was difficult due to time zone differences (India) and accents. – less

Because the diversity of the broadcast networks that SNI puts on the air, the challenges were constantly changing. You rarely ran into the same situation twice in a row.

Very Good forward thinking, technology driven company to work for.
HR Consultant (Former Employee), Chevy Chase, MarylandMarch 20, 2013
Pros: travel, supplies w/program logos, lunch provided often, comfortable work environment.
Cons: long work-days and sometimes taking work home with you in order to be prepared for the next day.
Although workdays started early and ended late, the work was very interesting and the work-day seemed to pass quickly. Conference calls took place daily because all locations had be on the same page with respect to processes and procedures. Change happened daily.

I learned that Broadcast TV has a very different culture from Cable TV. One would think – more... that they are quite similar but that is not the case. It was imperative that each employee learn and live the culture.

Management was very professional, responsible and continually assessed all areas of the business and developed strategies to improve performance.

My co-workers were absolutely great. The support structure was excellent. Everyone was open to answering questions and if need be, pointing you in the right direction.

The hardest part of the job was managing the huge community of temporary employees, effective recruiting and communicating changes to all locations.

The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing new programs being developed, learning about filming and meeting the talent. – less

Pros: flexible hours, diverse, fun, interesting, good challenges, beautiful campus
Great place to work; always focused on the internal and external clients. The company always tries to retool itself as needed to meet the needs of the personnel resources to do their job, and what the at home and market consumer wants in the media products they produce.
