Awful place to work. What you have read in the comments is all true. The job description does not match the duties assign and there is not training whatsoever. God forgive if you ask any questions on your first day.

Worst company to work for.
Associate (Former Employee) –  Miami, FLFebruary 26, 2016
Seaboard Solutions.
If you like being unhappy, build unsympathetic character due to backstabbers, enjoy low pay salary for years compared to industry standards and being critical remarked. This is the place for you to build such experience for your portfolio.

Seaboard Solutions is the worst company you can work for. The vice president and management are bullies; SSI will hire you for one position and job description and then demand you do an entirely different function once you are there. No support, no training. Micromanagement and bad reputation are well known in the industry.
All you need to do is to mention the vice president's and management names to get everything you need to know. Little respect for employees. Very, very high turnover. Do not be fooled by the salary, bonus and benefits. You will regret working for this company. General management is a joke, always looking for ways to instigate and create conflict with coworkers. The pay is way below average, not enough for the stress of working under that type of management. Managers and supervisor will do whatever possible to give you a bad review in order to no give you a pay raise. Not room for advancement, salary/raises are suppress compared to millions in capital profits they make each year. HR dept struggles to do the right thing but is inclined and oblige to 99% pro company not employee leaning. Management dictated by an Elite Group who favors snitches alike. There’s lack of departmental communication, lack of reasonable salary/compensation /benefits and seniority is a fiction. I have learned to watch
more... my back, learned how the Corp-World works in opposition to the right principles and how managers and job titles are specified by choice of preference by the Elite. Their continued education benefits are a shaggy dog story a swell. Inside the office there security cameras everywhere; you are being watched all the time.
Please don't waste your talents with this company; also know that management will not fire you because they don't want you to collect unemployment, instead they will make your work life a living nightmare, so you quit and wont be able to collect.

Heavy Machine Operator (Current Employee) –  Miami, FLNovember 23, 2015
Working for Seaboard Marine lacks job work\life balance. Random Days off. Which are never the same. Working nights doesn't allow me to plan my days off with my family. We go to work today, then are notified that tomorrow we are off.

Rewarding but High Volume work environment
Employee (Current Employee) –  Miami, FLOctober 24, 2015
Great place to learn and grow if you are willing to put in the work. It is a demanding fast paced environment, but fair. Most of management understands the pressure of the industry and try to do what is best for their employees. The pay might not be the best, but the benefits are great and start on your first day. The company in general tries to take care of their employees as much as possible although some can lose sight of that in the amount of work. You will succeed here if you like a challenge. Aside from the busy days there is some fun. Company Holiday Party, Company Picnic, HALLOWEEN (Departments are set-up, Employees come in costume, and there's a little lunch party)

Horrible bosses
EDI Programmer (Former Employee) –  Miami, FLAugust 20, 2015
Horrible place to work. Bosses were all bullies and ruled by fear. The environment was always loud and filled with noises and chaotic. Management cared more about celebrating birthdays then getting any work done. They hire you for one position and job description and then demand you do an entirely different function once you are there. No support, no training, no empathy, not a nurturing environment at all.

Administrative Assistant- data entry (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXJune 26, 2015
A typical day at Seaboard Marine is clocking in, organizing your BOL accordingly to departure date and begin your job task. Everyone in the department worked together as a team to get things done quicker. My co workers were/ are amazing, they are older woman and they trained me the best. The hardest part about this job was when some BOL weren't give to our department and by the time we received them we had to rush and get them done before 4pm. This job was enjoyable because it was drama free, situations/ problems were left at home as they should be.
Pros
Free lunch daily, Ot, raises
Cons
No breaks, short lunch or no lunch on busy days

Bad Accounting Dept. Environment-Stay away
Manager (Former Employee) –  Miami, FLApril 21, 2015
Bad management in the Accounting Department has ruined this department for the past 5 years. The change of management of a year and a half ago has not made the department any better. Lots of long hours and backstabbing. Little respect for employees. Very high turnover. Do not be fooled by the salary, bonus and benefits. You will regret working in that department. Stay away.
Pros
Decent salaries, Christmas bonus, discretionary bonus, good benefits
Cons
Long, long, long hours. Lack of consideration to employees In Accounting.

Inventory Clerk (Former Employee) –  Miami, FloridaJanuary 8, 2015
Seaboard Marine is a secure company with competitive benefits. A typical work day consist of repetitive tasks mixed with spontaneous assignments. Management is working shoulder to shoulder every step of the way; whether you are a seasoned veteran or a novice. Strong bonds are formed by co-workers because they treat each other like family. The most difficult part of the job is handling the Miami weather, for alot of the positions in the Port of Miami are executed outdoors. The most enjoyable part of the job is playing dominoes at lunchtime.

Laborer (Current Employee) –  Miami, FLMay 26, 2014
The management is horrible the job feels like a mom and pops work place. Too much favoritism going on feels racial. But besides that you do have some good workers and the benefits are great. But at time when you go into work feel so much pressure from the co-workers who does nothing at all but sleep and play.
