Great place to work
Merchandiser (Current Employee), Ridgecrest, CAOctober 3, 2013
Pros: easy to accomplish
Cons: sometimes orders are not in
Very easy and works with my schedule for school. I go in get the merchandise then I stock the shelves and return all the packaging to the store room.

Very flexible work hours, but not a career
Merchandiser (Current Employee), CASeptember 30, 2012
Pros: flexible schedule, easy work.
Cons: mundane work, no room for advancement, you don't get pay raises.
Your work schedule is very flexible, so you can't be late for work, it is a great job if you are a stay at home mom or have other obligations because the the schedule is so flexible. As a merchandiser you go into different stores and merchandise products such as books and magazines, you put new product out and organize it. The work is very easy, but – more... it is also very mundane, and you are not learning new skills that you can transfer over to a new job. This is a part time job with no room for advancement. A good job if you are between jobs, but not something you want to do long term. Many merchandisers tend to be stay at home moms or retired people, this is just a part time job, not a career. – less

A day with SMS
Merchandiser (Part-time) (Current Employee), Atlanta, GAJuly 30, 2012
Pros: paid travel
Cons: store management, random long days
A typical work day consists of going to a few different retail stores and merchandising magazines. The most difficult part of the job is dealing with the different store managers. They can be a bit overwhelming, but can be tolerable to work with. For the most part, i work alone and days have a tendency to be long.
