The Executive Director serves as team leader of the organization and link with the Board of Directors. He/she sets the mission of the organization in line with its vision, and is responsible for initiating and facilitating programs that carry the mission forward. SHI is dedicated to alleviating hunger by helping people help themselves. As an organization, SHI maintains capacity and focus in meeting human needs related to agricultural advancement, microcredit, nutrition, health and clean water; currently working in Ghana and Nicaragua.
*Bachelor's degree required with cross-cultural work experience strongly preferred.
*Passionate commitment to mission and service.
*Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals.
*Communicate well both in writing and public speaking
*Experience with governmental and non-governmental organizations in international development,
*Ability to inform constituencies of the work and needs of the SHI programs, ultimately to strengthen financial support.
*Develop and manage a variety of human resources.
*Practice sound financial management.
*Fluency in Spanish highly desirable.
