Refuses to pay overtime even though you work for it
Home Health Aide (HHA) (Current Employee), Kent WA – May 27, 2013
Pros: flexible shifts
Cons: no mileage pay and
I do not recomend This place. They had me working 50 hours a week and refused me over time pay. Also I injured my back and asked for someone to come out to clients house to take over, and was told someone would be there, I finished my shift 7 hours later clients family member came home instead.

Nice office atmosphere for our dementia classes.
Caregiver (Current Employee), Lakeland, FL – May 27, 2013
Pros: gift cards!
Cons: not enough pay.
I don't get in the office much because they just e-mail me my client information. My co-workers are very nice. I have learned alot from my dementia classes. Feeling really accomplished when they send me my certificates! My boss rewarded me with gift cards for both Subway and WalMart for my service appreciation witch I really enjoyed spending. The hardest – more... part of my job is finding my way around the towns because I am unfamiliar with Florida. I am originally from Las Vegas, Nv., but I am learning Fl. day by day! – less

I've learned the process of filing a bill and writing up a bill of sale and an invoice. my co-workers was very helpful in my time of working there. the hardest part of my job is meeting a required deadline in very short window of time with a short – more... notice. – less

CNA at Senior Helpers
Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee), Rockville, MD – May 16, 2013
I would come in early on the weekend, my patient would be asleep. Clean and make sure the house and everything is clean and his breakfast is hot and ready. when he wakes up or if he is still asleep at 10am, i open the windows for light and calmly wake my client up. Clean him, wash his face, brush his teeth and groom him. Check for any incontinence if – more... any then i go i head and clean him and change him if not then i feed him breakfast. Empty the trays and put on the tv for him to watch and keep him company for a while. Change his bed position after 2hrs or so, and monitor him for incontinenece and provide his access to his needs. Clean him at around noon and change him. Provide his lunch. Let him relax and for a bit. Try to get him engaged in some activities or take him to the activity room. later on get him comfortable in bed. do a little range of motion with his legs and clean him before i leave. Make sure i empty all incontinence and write notes in my employee handbook. – less

Caregiver (Former Employee), Solana Beach, CA – April 29, 2013
Pros: great clients
Cons: absolutly no support from office staff
Huge issue getting my paychecks, even after getting direct deposit.
You feel like you have to tell the office staff how to do their jobs.
Co-workers were friendly, but didn't want to follow care plans of clients.

productive
caregiver (Current Employee), Napa, CA – April 27, 2013
Pros: i drive patient to stores.
Cons: short brakes and i dont get full time shifts
My day starts by getting my patient out of bed. Then dress her and make her breakfast. After we go to church and then to the gym where she does her pool exercizes. I learn to always be on guard, be extra carefull and responsible. The hardest part of my job is to be seating down and doing nothing. I sit when my patient is reading and i am all done with – more... my duties. It's hard because I always like to have hands on. My patient is adorable we get along. The most enjoyable part of my job is learning from my patient and listening to her stories. – less

Good company to work for with nice mix of clients.
Caregiver/Companion (Current Employee), Solana Beach, CA – March 11, 2013
Pros: they work with my schedule.
Cons: office far away, work can be far away. assignments not steady.
Overall I have a good relationship with the office staff and principles. Typical work day consists of going to clients location and providing whatever care is required. Office staff are on call 24 hours a day to handle unexpected situations. All the staff that I have worked with have been professional.

Some of the clients have had some form of dementia – more... and at times have been challenging.

My most rewarding times have been the thanks I have gotten from clients connecting with activities they have missed. – less

No room for advancement and pay rate not reasonable
LPN (Former Employee), Odenton, MD – February 26, 2013
Pros: the smiles on the patients faces.
Cons: the pay
I needed to hone my CNA skills for a hospital setting. I enjoyed interacting with the elderly and even if they didnt remember. I enjoyed bathing, walking, talking, driving and assisting the patients with their activities of daily living. The hardest part of this job was having years and years of clinical experience and being in an in home setting. I – more... did not always feel comfortable in others homes. Showering, toilet assistance and diapering although I was proficient at it, was also an issue for me because I have always been in a clinical setting. I made it clear to management several times I was over qualified and in school,I was promised more pay but stayed at the same pay rate. – less
