The successful candidate will be responsible for completing documentation tasks on time and budget within an aggressive schedule. Additional responsibilities include writing, formatting, editing, and validating user guides, technical manuals, security related publications and software documentation including help pages and reference guides. Designing, creating, and integrating graphics for program documentation and preparing program documentation for delivery in all formats and media are also included in this position's responsibilities.
The technical writer must also review and edit program documents for technical accuracy in accordance with all applicable documentation standards and style guides. He/she will collaborate with subject matter experts to develop thorough and accurate technical documents.
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and skills:
BA in English, Technical communications, tech discipline or equivalent experience.
Ability to research, compose, and proof technical documentation. Excellent oral and written skills.
Five years experience in technical writing experience required.
Ideal candidate possesses computer proficiency with technical writing applications such as Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and MS Visio. Ability to work as a team player with minimal supervision a must. Capable of supporting tight production, multi-project schedules.
US citizenship and eligibility for security clearance is required for most positions.
