If I could give this review 0 stars I would.
Visa Processing Specialist (Former Employee), Portsmouth, NH – October 3, 2012
The contract Serco has with The National Visa Center in Portsmouth, NH is HORRIBLE. If they aren't laying people off, people are hoping one day they will be layed off they hate working there so much.

data entry of location using internal geological information system software
Data Entry Operator (Former Employee), San Francisco, CA – September 16, 2012
Pros: friendly staff, working out of the office, seeing beautiful places and different parts of san francisco.
Cons: temporary assignement
I rode my bicycle to locations to gather meter numbers then went to library or coffee shop to enter the numbers in the portable system.

I learned how to use a GIS, geological information system.

There was a change in project management but soon things were running smoothly with the project.

It was a friendly staff and we enjoyed good humor.

The – more... job was not difficult in any way.

I enjoyed working out of the office. – less

Serco
Military Pay Technician (Former Employee), Fort Lewis, WA – August 23, 2012
I loved working for Serco, Inc, and wish I could have continued working for them.

I got the opportunity to work in the military environment as I have been wanting to do since being discharged from the US Air Force due to medical reasons.

I've worked for worse contracts
Personnel Assistant (Former Employee), Fort Dix, NJ – August 13, 2012
Pros: health benefits were at least average, 401k matched, salary good
Cons: managment and leads had no experience - good for them
Immediate management was the worst!! Hired are those who have NO leadership qualities or creative thinking skills in order to streamline or simplify an overbearing environment.
The salary was above average in a normally low paying County. I loved that Serco matched your 401k.
Just when I thought the health benefits could not of possibly been worse... – more... the new Contractor proved wrong.
This is contracting for ya! – less

Pros: different places to go out to eat
Cons: dusty
Lots of meeting to accomplish the mission, we learn new procedures due to daily changes, management takes care the big problems, co-workers are great, the hardest part of the day is last minute changes, the most enjoyable part of the job is when the mission gets cudos.

The team absolutley horrible.
Parking Enforcement Officer (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – July 27, 2012
I would never recommend anyone to work for this company. This company has horrible employee/ employer relations. I would like to report them to the Better Business Bureau. They should have more respect to there employees. I had a horrible. They have a lot of miscommunications with the managers, policies, and there employees.

– August 8, 2012

Their contract with the National Visa Center in Portsmouth, NH is EXACTLY the same. They are terrible. The lack of respect for the employees is unfathomable.

– October 3, 2012

Many employees from NVC talked of reporting them to the Department of Labor but I don't know what ever came of it.

It was a great company to work with. Allowed you to learn on modules before doing the actual work.
DEER/RADIDS CAC Operator/ Site Security Manager (Former Employee), Camp Casey at South Korea – July 24, 2012
Pros: the environment was flexible.
Cons: too busy to get breaks only when we had too.
It was a greeat company to work with. In a typical day I learned to work with all types of people, soldiers and their families, civilians and contractors. I prepared equipment to see if they were up and running. Made sure that are reports were turned in on a timely manner. Made sure we had enough sheets to log in our clients request or help. I made – more... sure that all old ID's were placed in a lock cabinet.

I learned about their basic needs to get their Identification Card which is necessary to get in and out of base. I learned to use documents to make their status legal.

Management was always their in case of an emergency or you needed their help.

My co-workers were helpful in any kind of situation that arrived. We made sure that we were under the same page and no changes would occur during working hours. If there was any type of problem that we took care of it within the office before we call management.

The hardest part of the job is to control people who would get upset for some reason or another. That was taken care right away or to have the customer be satisfied.

The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting all types of people in all kinds of situations. – less
