Atrocious management and training.
Closing Coordinator (Former Employee), Overland Park, KS – April 11, 2013
Pros: free lunches, time passes quickly
Cons: rude people, two-faced managment, junior high cliques
The management and training at this company was awful. They train for two weeks in things that really don't make a whole lot of sense once you're out on the floor; the atmosphere is very cliquish and there is A LOT of gossip because it's mostly women who have no lives; the team lead was a condescending pig who everyone hated and only got team lead because – more... of the amount of files she cleared (not her people skills); their high turn over rate is supposedly due to attendance, but it's honestly due to how lousy their management is and lack of interpersonal skills.

The only thing I liked about this job was how quickly time passed because you ARE always busy, which is good. And free food is always nice, but if it weren't for the condescending nature of my team lead, I probably would've caught on quicker and not been so stressed 98% of the time. It obviously wasn't a good fit, but I still resent how much I was ostracized by my co-workers just because I was new. You really have to be a certain kind of stupid to enjoy this job, and love to gossip, and be cool with people talking down to you like you're a five-year-old. You're just another body passing through unless you're enough of a brown-noser to suck up to management. It's ridiculous. Stay far, far, away from this company. – less

Its a hastle to claim payment..too stressful, cheap, rude, inconsiderate
Independent contractor - closer (Former Employee), I did the Texas region. Servicelink is in PA – April 6, 2013
Pros: none really that i can think of..
Cons: too many to mention.
I am glad to say I WAS an independent contractor for this dusfuncional company. I worked with them for at least 7 years and hapilly stopped accepting assignments on October 2012.. Eventhough I was a senior closer, had gone out of my way to close deals for them, done favors during holidays where they had no contractors to cover their overload and I always – more... had to kiss everyone's rear to be in good standings, they never appreciated my working relationship...sooo much to say about this company, from coordinators promissing to pay so you do for them but later they just forgot conversations, to coordinators talking down to us just because they were not having a good day, to threats of cutting you off their contractor list just because scheduling had given an incorrect address, ....of course, it is never their fault and always ours..even when we do not have control of documentation that was not sent to us to begin with...but the worst off all was to claim payment!!! There were times that servicelink owned me over $1500 for closings that went unpaid just because coordinators didnt update their system for us to get paid...then, the waste of time calling to get the issue resolved, they throw the ball to each other "call the coordinator, call billing, call vendor management, etc..but nobody seems to get things done!! and the rudeness when it was time to claim what was legally our fees...etc. I stopped claiming over $200 just because I got tired of dealing with them. Thank God I found other ways of earning money cause it was just not healthy partnering with this company. If I figure the time that took me just to claim payment, it is just not worth to work for them. They also screwed up orders!! they would pay what was not claimed just to add up to the amount you were claiming in an specific billing cycle so dont just check the amount of your check but check order per order to make sure they are paying the orders you claimed..otherwise, after a few months, you will have to go back to catch what happended..this is true story. As a few of their own employees said: "this company is a hell hole"...lol. and I have no doubts this is true since they have a hight turn over. – less

Pros: many free lunches, friendly general staff
Cons: aked to alter data that i was not comfortable with doing.
I worked as a temp office assistant doing hourly reporting on mortgage loan closers. Team leaders were not happy with true reports and reflected negatively to management on those that did not cooperate. Was really not a good fit.

IT Help Desk (Former Employee), Coraopolis, PA – January 14, 2013
This company was to start out getting experience in the field. It was my first corporate job so I learned about the kind of responsibility they expect out you. The hardest part of the job was reaching the everyday quota. Sometimes it was difficult because when we would call a user about a pc problem sometimes the individual would not answer back and – more... sometimes that would make difficult to complete the call. – less

Closing Coordinator (Former Employee), Aliquippa, Pa – January 6, 2013
Pros: the company was always trying to make work life fun and interesting.
Cons: being in the mortgage industry, the day to day work could get stressful.
Servicelink promoted not only the opportunity to earn a paycheck, but to give back to the community and learn about health issues.

Horrible management and constant layoffs
Asset Coordinator (Former Employee), Wheatridge, Colorado – September 10, 2012
Pros: casual dress code, fair compensation and convenient parking and location
Cons: management, constant layoffs, no advancement opportunities and favoritism
I have worked for three REO companies in the area and this one was by far the worst! The atmosphere is extremely unprofessional, the job tedious and unstimulating and the management lacks leadership skills and general job protocol. I left my previous secure employment because they promised so many great things and advancement opportunities to only be – more... laid off two days before my benefits kicked in, stating they hired for expectant work volume they never received. – less

You are on your own after training!
Closing Coordinator (Former Employee), Aliquippa, PA – September 9, 2012
Pros: catered lunches and fun events for employees
Cons: mandatory ot with little notice and no help after training
Thought this company would be a good career for me. Bad interview where the manager kept me waiting for 45 minutes, asked 1 question and texted the whole time. He promised little OT and no weekends which was a lie. They don't want you to have a life and expect you to be their slave. I took the job because I thought the manager at the interview was an – more... exception, but he's a typical arrogant employee. After an intense 2 week training, you sit with someone for 1 day then you are expected to be own your own. My "supervisor" did not like questions because she didn't know the answers and was rude when I wanted help. Then when I missed a step, she got angry. No support at all on the floor and the training only gave a broad view of what the job was. Found out they will hire anyone--felons, high school drop-outs, etc. Turnover is HIGH! Expected to work 12 hour days plus Saturday. – less

Fast paced work environment enabled me to be more productive in the workforce
Team Leader (Former Employee), Coraopolis,PA – September 9, 2012
I was employed as a Team Leader and faced numerous daily obstacles one primarily being the constant turnover of employees. Trying to do your job correctly and efficiently was extremely challenging because of the fast-paced environment with understaffing. Everything needed to be done immediately along with the next priority. Constantly had to train new – more... staff. If you enjoy family life or have children hesitate about applying as you will get lost in the job. Very seldom did you leave work on time. Expectations of management were unrealistic. Overtime is expected at short or no notice. Management was unappreciative of any efforts and the constant employee bashing was evident daily. Rarely were you commended for a job well done. – less
