Severn Trent Services is intent on providing cleaner water for consumers around the globe. The company, a subsidiary of UK-based Severn Trent, provides water and wastewater purification services and products to utilities, bottling companies, and other clients, primarily in the US and the UK. Operations include water filtration and disinfection technologies, contract operations and maintenance, pipeline rehabilitation, and state-of-the-art residential metering products and services. Severn Trent Services' international management services unit supports all aspects of water and wastewater utility management.
The company has built its portfolio of products and services businesses through a series of acquisitions in the US and UK. In 2008 Severn Trent Services acquired field analytical tools business, Cybersense, allowing the company to combine the speed of on-site testing with the reliability of traditional laboratory analysis.
Expanding geographically, in 2009 it acquired Spanish water treatment solutions firm Apliclor. In 2010 Severn Trent Services boosted its sales and service operations in Shanghai and Singapore in order to respond to the growing demand in the Asia-pacific market.
Earlier, seeking to focus its attention on developing its core water and wastewater treatment services businesses, the company sold Severn Trent Laboratories, (which provides environmental testing and consulting services and was formerly its largest division) to TestAmerica in 2007.
