A valuable and learning experience.
Project Accountant - Lead (Current Employee), Aiken, SC – June 5, 2013
Pros: the chance to serve on different committees: safety, fire warden, percs, fund raisers, etc.
Cons: after getting used to 4 10's, the change to a 9 80 work schedule.
In a typical Accounting Department, there are certain weeks that are much more busier than others. Working in the MOX Accounting Department is no different. The challenge to produce solid, error free work in a timely manner was a welcomed requirement. Working in a Safety First environment is self assuring. I am enjoying learning about the nuclear and – more... construction fields as well as governmental accounting. – less

Electrical Engineer (Former Employee), Stoughton, MA – June 4, 2013
When you have a deadline and you have multitasks you have to look at what job is priority first and make your selection to respect the delivery date.
I've learned a lot of stuff at Shaw such as ethical professional, team work, group creativity, and walkdown at different Nuclear Power Stations.

General Foreman / Practical Examiner (Former Employee), Saint Paul, VA – June 2, 2013
Upper management only promoted family members, and knew nothing about their roles. My direct supervisor scored a 13 on the craft test and did not even know how to open e-mails related to his job. Anyone who was a threat to his job was removed from the project.

Great people to work for
Laborer for Scaffold crew (Former Employee), Jenkinsville, SC – March 16, 2013
Pros: great pay
Cons: no family time
It is a great company to work for, great people, however not very stable environment It is working shut down so the job only last a few months. It is very strict on safety which is great its a nuclear plant! I had to lift up to 50lbs, carry tools, work 60-80hrs a week. I loved working with my team we built scaffold and tore it down when finished. I – more... was then transferred to another section after scaffold finished, called Confined space and FME after our jobs had finished. I loved my new team also. It was much easier we just kept logs of the engineers doing their jobs. – less
