A new type of game.
Software Engineer (Current Employee), Las Vegas, NVFebruary 14, 2013
Pros: very hands on training, variety of applications, great company exposure
Cons: unclear specification requirements and timelining for product development
My experience at SHFL entertainment has been a great one. As my first full time position as a software engineer it has been a challenging and learning experience.
My main responsibility was developing and testing stored procedure in T-SQL 2005/2008 on a variety on gaming databases. Developed stored procedures were used to drive data reports in SSRS and Crystal Reports. Also developed front end user interface using C# and VB.net on gaming applications.
Finally, I was involved in deployment of our progressive gaming systems and had the opportunity to travel to gaming boards and casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Toronto and Macau China.
