Shir Ami (http://shiraminow.org/) is a vibrant, Reform Jewish congregation of over 800 member families in beautiful Bucks County a suburb of Philadelphia. The synagogue serves as the spiritual and educational hub for our Jewish community. We offer many ways to worship, learn, rejoice, and celebrate to deepen Jewish identity and commitment.
Shir Ami seeks an experienced individual to serve as our full time operations leader. This individual will provide strategic leadership, guide the congregation toward its goals and take responsibility for overall management and day-to-day operations of the synagogue. The Director of Operations reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for implementing and carrying out the policies and programs as well as the mission and vision set by the Board. In partnership, this individual works collaboratively with the clergy, professional staff and laity.
The ideal candidate will immediately assume a leadership role, have a high level of prior management experience, and possess knowledge of Reform Judaism. The candidate will have experience creating and managing a budget, and be ready to accept all fiscal responsibilities. This energetic professional will work with staff and lay leadership to increase future growth of the synagogue and facilitate the congregation to advance as an institution. In addition, the candidate will be responsible in the implementation of a new strategic plan.
Key responsibilities include: * Planning, creation and implementation of policies, programs and procedures * Oversight of all financial operations of the synagogue; including but not limited to development, budget and investments * Protection of all assets of the congregation, real and intangible, * Supervision of all staff * Liaison with Shir Ami Board of Directors, president and clergy * Team leadership and assistance for staff members and lay leaders to achieve their goals
