Horrible environment
Stock Crew (Former Employee), West Chester, PAJuly 17, 2014
I only worked here for a few months, and it was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any job. Some of the employees were nice and friendly, but the management treated the employees horrible. There is slim to no chance of ever getting more than 20 hours a week. The store is split into 2 unions. The one that covered my section did absolutely – more... nothing for us. Pay is basic (which was expected at a grocery store). Management does not listen to employees and blatantly turns a blind eye on various illegal activities. – less

It was horrible.
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Somerset, NJJune 14, 2014
The managers did not look to help the employees as they should have. A lot of the things you learned at the workday was self taught. The only good thing is the bond that grew with your co-workers.

Nice loving place, with workers who make you feel like family
Carts (Current Employee), Philadelphia, PAJune 8, 2014
Pros: water when it's hot, additional help if needed, and cool down time.
Cons: weather conditions and cars almost hitting you.
Shop Rite is a nice place with workers who treat you and make you feel like family. The management is a bunch of well organized men and women ready to help yours, or others needs in the blink of an eye. They provide us with water during the hot days of summer and spring. Also, we get hot chocolate if it's cold out. The hardest part of the job is when – more... the cart holders are full, and even that's easily taken care of. The most enjoyable part is the feeling of comfort as soon as you walk through the entrance. The number one think i learned is, safety is a number one priority. – less

Cashier (Former Employee), Somerset, NJMay 28, 2014
Shop Rite is like a family. co-workers are friendly and open to each other. Even after you leave shop rite for further advancements in your career, you are going to want to stay in contact with the people that work there. The most enjoyable part of the day is dealing with the customers, for the majority customers are looking for a friendly face at the – more... end of their grocery store trip. Management Team is outstanding, they are very flexible to students and people with other jobs. – less

fun/busy place to work
Cashier / Diary (Current Employee), Philadelphia, PAMay 27, 2014
Pros: meet different people from different background, safe place, respectful co-workers
Cons: short breaks, benefits, hours are not much
A typical day at work depends on whats need to be done and who working with you like if i'm on register you have have a lot of customers who are happy and some who are not so happy but we have to try and change that but not everyone respect what your trying to do , we also have monthly tasks like who can provide the best services, who can keep their – more... station organized, as well as cleaning the station before and after using. But on the other hand in diary its more stocking the milk, eggs, juices, and the items that are on sale and completely empty on the shelf. but if it really busy some mangers will send you extra help or send someone to do some cleaning up – less
