Sales Manager (Former Employee), Fort Lauderdale, FL – June 26, 2014
Pros: people liked the service
Cons: boring, low compensation plan
This was not as challenging or rewarding yet position interesting to apply the concepts of identity theft security to personal life. I needed to have a task that challenged my brain more. I like that we were helping companies stay secure and it was an easy sale.
Customer Service Representative (CSR) (Former Employee), Saint Rose, LA – May 5, 2014
Cons: unsafe work habits
i worked for them for over a year i moved into a hotel for 3 months to help support the company due to lost of a satelite driver as i returned to my home office i was met with the fact the over hired and did not have a postion available i was injured while trying to fit back into the new issues with not only the over hiring of staff but uner new managment – more... needless to say 3 days after i wasa released from light duty from my injury i was laid off due to cut backs – less

Pros: lots of overtime
Cons: too much ovetime
Shred It is a good company. The local manager is great and really goes the extra mile for his empoyees but the higher managers do not seem to care about the lower level employees. It is a very physical job and the extreme heat and cold has huge affects on the drivers. The pay is ok and the overtime is plentifull. It is great for someone who has no ambition – more... to advance but is not good for someone who does want to advance. Very little chance for advancement. – less

Pros: there were none.
Cons: the worst co. to work for.
The worst Co i ever worked for, Mgmt were slave drivers, we did'nt get to sit n have lunch, we had to work while trying to eat your lunch at the same time, if for some reason beyond your control you did not finish the route you weretreated like a nobody the worst.
machine and forklift operator (Former Employee), story rd near norhtwest highway – August 13, 2013
a normal work day starts at 8pm and its very independent no ones walking around looking over you shoulder telling what to do. I would walk in drop my belongings find my supervisor he will go get the tractor and I would climb in start the machine and work till 4am.
Terrible Place to Work if Your'e New to the Indusrty
Sales Executive (Former Employee), FL – June 26, 2013
Pros: 9 month ramp up, good starting salary, great benefits, free phone
Cons: no real training program, everything else
Company offers no training program, except for a ramp up program, which is essentially 9 months to figure out what to do and how to get your sales. My training literally consisted of the first two days sitting with my manager for maybe an hour, yapping on about stuff, and then suddenly being thrown out to figure out my way around. That might have explained – more... why everyone I was working with was significantly older, and had many years of prior experience. Be careful what you say around your co-workers, because they will rat you out. It was also annoying listening to operations and other co-workers constantly complaining about their jobs. – less
Customer Service/Driver (Former Employee), Charlotte, NC – February 27, 2013
Pros: no weekends.
Cons: where do i begin?
Good job if all you need is a paycheck. I was a csr for 5 yrs. the only opportunity I had for advancement was for a dispatch position that paid less money. I passed. The more money you make with hours and bonus, the more ways management manipulate the pay scale to keep you from making a decent paycheck. Other than that the guys I worked with we're great – more... and we created a family amongst ourselves. That was the only thing that made the job tolerable. – less

Pros: pro active management. team atmosphere.
Cons: no dental or vision coverage yet.
I've worked for Shred-It for a year and find the work to be rewarding and challenging at the same time. Great people to work for and with. I would rate work environment and compensation as "better than average" for job responsibilities.
