Senior consultants issues
Programmer/Analyst Custom Interface group (Former Employee), Malvern, PA – May 15, 2013
Pros: flex hours for most departments
Cons: out sourcing and lay off's
Too many positions eliminated especially to experience consultants with 10 plus years employment. Out sourcing is also an issue.

Have been too many changes with management over the past few years.
Systems Specialist ,Sr. (Former Employee), St. Louis, MO – May 13, 2013
Pros: company truck and bringing customers to lunch.
Cons: not getting proper office support for doing my job.
I have worked here for 15 years. I work with electricians and tradesman supervising the intallation of temperature control systems. I enjoy my job.
My boss of the last 6 years passed away and now management has a new person in place who is very new to the industry and was making life and jobs very difficult to enjoy. Hardest part of my job was not getting – more... the right parts needed and trying to explain to the customer why that is. The most enjoyable part is training the end user on the system installed. – less

Best job of my career
Senior Engineering Technician / Project Manager (Former Employee), Norcross and Tucker, GA – May 7, 2013
Pros: excellent facilities of all types required, adequate resources and opportunity, and professional colleagues
Cons: it didn't last as long as i'd have preferred
Eleven of the best years in my working career. Management figured out early-on that I got more and better work done for more clients on a consistent level if they made me an autonomous agent, giving me the resources and materials requested and allowing me to resolve the issues. Many opportunities to work alone and on teams; I do both well. I came away – more... with far more than I started with; overall, an excellent experience. – less

Engineering Environment for good and bad
Advanced Financial Accountant (Former Employee), Orlando, FL – May 1, 2013
Pros: brilliant people at work
Cons: limits to how far you can go if not in engineering
Fascinating products, talented folks. Dominated by engineering department, so other functional support groups may not have the opportunity to be true business partners.

Very good work environment
Receptionist/HR Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Houston, TX – May 1, 2013
Pros: free lunch sometimes, company picnics
Cons: job security
I started each day by checking the visitor board for all visitors to the site, answering the phones, greeting and taking visitors to their destination, accepting applications for employment, receiving and sending out mails, checking supplies, making badges. I learned how to make badges, operate computerized visitor board and how to manage vacation tracking – more... log. The management was excellent. My co-workers certainly exhibited that team spirit and company loyalty. The most enjoyable part of my job was the friendly, but quiet business like atmosphere and being able to work independently without constant supervision. – less

Productive and Nice people to work with (Very friendly environment)
Production Technician II (Former Employee), Mountain View – April 29, 2013
Pros: we work with less supervision and we are not stress.
Cons: salary increase is quite small.
We work as a team. We see to it that quality first is our main priority. And teamwork is very important for us. I could say that they treat us fairly and they give quaterly recognitions like free dining and watch movies and additional cash to their employees.
We have free fruits and donuts for a couple days a week. Those who celebrates their birthdays – more... for the month they prepare cakes for them. I really enjoy and happy working here for seven years because we work like a family. The most enjoyable part of our job are when we meet our goal on time they treat us in restaurant or we go to bowling and play in mini gold. We go picnic too, potluck and do some barbecue and play games together with our manager, supervisor and Engineers. – less

Wind division VERY unprofessional!
Field Safety Mgr/Specialist (Former Employee), OR, WA, TX – April 27, 2013
Pros: a lot of overtime
Cons: backstabbers, no loyalty
I worked for them for 3 years (through a staffing agency) as a Field Safety Mgr/Specialist. In this time period, I flew all over the country for them & lived in hotels on location for as long as 6 months while overseeing or assisting their Safety Dept on $200-$300 million dollar Wind farm projects; I commonly worked 12-16 hr days for them, 7 days a – more... week & on major holidays...yet, they rewarded me by LOWBALLING me (salary-wise) THREE times on offers to join them directly and backstabbed me when I refused to accept their offers!!

This is how you are treated by Siemens Wind after years of complete dedication AND you climbed 300 ft towers for them on site while THEIR company Safety staff sat in their offices all day, never climbed & were continually late to their OWN safety meetings!! Also, their Safety staff KNEW I was much more qualified & educated than them and they resented me for it! What a CIRCUS!!

After THREE years, I was fired for a misunderstanding/mishap regarding me being unable to renew my driver's license in a timely fashion and it caused a delay in me being able to help them on a project in Oregon ...all the while, I knew they were simply using that as a lame excuse to get rid of me because I continually refused to join them directly & settle for an unfair, joke of a salary!

DO NOT work in the Safety division for Siemens Wind if you expect professionalism & a fair salary...you will just be a NUMBER to them...you've been warned. – less
