As one of our Live Goods Merchandisers, you are responsible for providing exceptional in-store customer sales and merchandising services in garden centers of a nationally known retail home center.
Your primary goal is to help both the retailer and grower increase sales by keeping live goods and plant displays stocked and attractive to the customers. You will be maintaining, building, and stocking displays, watering plants, checking inventory, suggesting orders, gaining additional aisle displays, and communicating with Garden Center Associates, Supervisors, and Store Managers. Building relationships with store associates and management is important so outgoing and friendly personalities are essential!
This is a retail sales and service merchandising position offering competitive hourly pay and other benefits.
Responsibilities (but not limited to)
-Setting up and maintaining plant displays
-Water plants daily
-Price-sign plant displays
-Track and report discarded plants and complete service reports
-Communicating daily with Lead Merchandiser and or Area Supervisor
-Retail merchandising, display, and plan-o-gram maintenance
Note: All retail team members will be expected, if possible, to follow other job related instructions and tasks as directed by management.
-High School Diploma or GED required
-Training is provided but prior retail and or merchandising experience is preferred
-Garden Center, Horticulture, Landscaping, Flower Shop experience is preferred
-Experience in Home Improvement retailers or Nursery Garden Centers is a plus!
-Available to work weekdays Monday thru Friday
-Available to work some weekends based on needs of the program and client
-A smart phone may be required for some locations to complete reports and submit photos during store visits (Android or iPhone)
-Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and minimum auto insurance coverage required by the employee’s state of residence
-English is the primary language skill. Bilingual skills may be required for some locations
While performing the duties of this job employees are regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, kneel, bend, crouch, climb or balance. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The rolling carts on which plants are delivered must be pushed or pulled from place to place.
You will be driving to your scheduled store(s) during your workday throughout a geographic area.
NOTE: This is a fast-paced job during which there is no down time. Candidates should expect to be on their feet throughout the entire shift. This job is for people who do not want to watch a clock. The time FLIES by that way, as opposed to jobs with downtime where you're watching the clock.
Our hiring process will consist of a standard background check and drug screening as required when designated by the client.
Full Time and Part Time plus scheduled overtime during peak seasons
Typical schedule 6:00AM to 3:00PM
Competitive hourly wage $10/hr to $13/hr based on experience
