Steer very clear of the failing small independent hospital.
IT (Former Employee) – IT – February 13, 2014
Current management and work culture is horrible at this facility. Employees try to make other employees look bad, so they can be the ones standing after the next round of layoffs. Avoid any positions that are IT or Radiology related. Nursing may be okay, but you will regret taking any other position in this company. Most of the management has already flown the coup to greener pastures.
Poor long term stability, coworkers out for blood.
Health Management (Current Employee) – Silverton, OR – October 20, 2016
Silverton is such a tight little community both in & out of the hospital walls. I've worked here for just under 5 years & feel very supported in my role here while feeling challenged to grow professionally by both co-workers & management alike.
Management rules with an iron fist and relies on intimidation
Medical Assistant (Former Employee) – Keizer, OR – August 22, 2016
I worked for silverton health as a medical assistant for almost 2 years. The first year and a half were great. They really cared about their employees offered a good PTO package and never made you feel micromanaged. Since then things have changed dramatically, new management has come in and decreased employee satisfaction particularly at the Keizer clinic. They don't listen to employee complaints, brush serious accusations under the rug and rely on intimidation. My co-workers were always great people but management/HR left a lot to be desired.
Medical Records Analyst/Birth Clerk (Former Employee) – Silverton, OR – May 23, 2016
The medical record department was a great place to work with diverse personalities. Teamwork was essential for a smooth running workday. I really enjoyed being a Birth Clerk and interviewing new moms for birth certificate information to submit to State of Oregon Vital Statistics and assembling OB charts before sending to coders. The hardest part of the job was working with very strong personalities from a couple of co-workers. The job itself was difficult at times with the department phone ringing off the hook, faxing information to providers, helping patients with release of information. Time management and multi-tasking was a must. Great place to work. I left because husband job transfer to Arizona.
Former employee (of course!!) (Former Employee) – Silverton, OR – January 5, 2016
This is a terrible hospital. Legacy had to buy them out as they are going broke from mismanagement. Full of lowlifes. The family birth center caters to people who have no insurance so we all pay!! Crazy crazy employee in Medical Records who is babied and coddled! Awful awful! Don't go there and don't work there!
Receptionist/Clinic Coordinator (Former Employee) – Eugene, OR – September 12, 2015
Open & Close office by following procedures, maintain petty cash draw and report to hospital for cash going in and out of offices. Answer phone and schedule patient for appointments and procedures. Verify patient insurance information by phone, fax or computer and enter data into hospital database. Maintain schedule for 13-physician office in Woodburn and 9-physician office in Silverton. Maintain and report 13 addition staff for both locations and a 4 staff Call Center. Hire staff and maintain employee records. Record and maintain all policy and procedure manuals. Helped prepare clinics for JACO inspection. (Hospital passed) Meet regular with hospital and orthopedic physicians on call schedules. I loved the versatility of this job. Everyday was different.
CT/MRI Technologist (Current Employee) – Silverton, OR – November 21, 2014
A busy fast-paced office to include CT, MRI, Mammo, Fluoro and X-ray procedures. Great team to work with. I'm currently teaching one of our other Rad Tech's CT exams. She has been very helpful as my backup and is learning very well.
Grunt (Former Employee) – Silverton Oregon – October 11, 2013
The management at Silverton Hospital in horrendous. Most managers have been there so long that all they care about is themselves. One department has only 8 employees and somehow a manager and an assistant manager is needed. Disgusting. Beware of this place.
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) – Silverton, OR – January 28, 2013
Small town customer service and excellent patient care. Employee's are treated like family as your will see from day one. I can't think of many negatives besides the budget cuts due to the slow economy.
