Processor (Former Employee), Memphis, TNJuly 29, 2014
Pros: we were able to get a discount on cloths an shoes
I would come in at 7 go get me some breakfast from the lunch room. go to my section an wait for the pickers to get out of there morning meetings then once the totes start rolling I would get to work. the managers there were very nice an understanding as well, my co-workers were easy to get along with an kept me on toes at work. the hardest part of my – more... job was getting the totes from being stuck because sometime they would fly every were. the most enjoyable part of my job I would have to say lunch for the simple fact that's when everyone was able to talk to each other. – less

Customer service support (Former Employee), Burlington, NJJuly 14, 2014
A typical day at work consisted of clocking in and non-stop warehouse work until break in repetition. Nothing hardly changed except for shifts and stations. I learned here at Simos how to sustain working manual labor. Management was okay but not very solid. Supervisors carried favoritism; very subject to some and stern to others. Co-workers were very – more... understanding and helpful. Everyone looked out for one another and made sure, that as a group, that we were all in check. The hardest part of the job was not being able to to ask questions to the supervisors without akward and belittling advice. The most enjoyable part of the job was working there with fellow classmates and partners. – less

not a great place to work.
Loader/ Unloader (Former Employee), Hampton, VAFebruary 26, 2014
Pros: 25 cent sodas
Cons: bad work ethics.
typical day at work, long and painful at first. it was a temp job, we were working at the Walmart distribution center in Williamsburg. just lifting heavy boxes and emptying trailers.

I learned how to use a pallet jack

the management, the supervisor wasn't really nice, felt like I was back at high school.

the co-workers we fine, most people were there – more... for work. some just wanted to walk around and socialize.

the hardest part about the job was working alone. walking on a concrete floor for 12 hours was horrible.

the most enjoyable part of the job was the long walk t leave through the front door. – less

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!
Finisher (Former Employee), Memphis, TNJanuary 9, 2014
Pros: no pros what so ever!!
Cons: beyond short breaks!! no benefits, no healthcare, no nothing!! you stand up all day long!! and work like a slave!
Simos was the Employer. The companies they assigned you to work for was Nike or Williams-Sonoma. The hiring process is long. I waited approximately 4 hours at the Simos hiring office then once they called me back, the lady said I had to come back in 2 more hours. Ok. Once you're hired..They give you instructions on where to go, when, and all that. They – more... assigned me to Williams-Sonoma. The first day was horrible. I went inside and asked the security guard could he give me instructions on where to go. [ Because I'm new ! ] He said " I don't know " . So I'm just standing there looking lost...First day..And I don't know where to go. So anywho, someone eventually showed me where to go. OK. Let me give you a description of a warehouse. A lot of noise, it takes forever to get where you're going, hot, you stand up all day, nerve wrecking, you have no privacy!! A typical day there was hell. My feet were hurting..The breaks were way too short. [ Remember, it takes forever to get to the break room! ] People were constantly watching you like you're in a prison. When actually you were!! Warehouse people work like slaves!! Point blank period!! I wouldn't advise anyone to work at any warehouse!! I worked at more than 1 so I know!!! I didn't enjoy anything about that job!! I learned that a warehouse job is not for me. And also people let me say this "TEMPORARY SERVICES" will hire you quick!! But the jobs are slave jobs!! and you will never be able to go home and say you had a good day..So get your degree people!! Go to college and get a degree so you can make More Money and Enjoy Your Job. Thanks : ) – less

Warehouse Associate/Final Inspector (Current Employee), Indianapolis, INDecember 26, 2013
Pros: days off when needed
Cons: making up your hours.
A typical day at work is very busy, I learned basic computer skills, as well as working in a team environment where everyone pitch in and helps where help is needed. The hardest part of the job at times was loading product on trailers to be shipped out, at time it was fun.
