Sales and Key Account Manager (Former Employee) – Norwood, GP – November 22, 2013
I valued being a part of a company that makes a difference the most , The Mission " To Grow" , what ever we did was to grow. That inspired me , sadly the mission is not shared by all! I enjoyed the challenge to understand the customers expectations , if we plan to Grow then we all benefit. My team inspired me and challenged , it was not easy managing the expectations people had of me. Due the size of the company , it did feel like we were on an Island and fighting for survival , but in the end we would always succeed whether we failed. I enjoyed the customer feedback the most , when we delivered beyond expectation. Recruiting for the business was the highlight , finding talent , potential talent and the right culture. Developing and seeing people grow , in the team, working with great people around me.

Management was more worried about their golf score than the moral of their employees or the company. Family Run company that put Family in positions of authority where they wasn't qualified to handle the position. Lack of Communication between departments, and staff.
Good work hours Benefits
Mismanaged lack of communication between departments
System Inventory Management Specialist (Current Employee) – Norcross, GA – January 2, 2016
I have been in the retail industry for a better part of 30 years, I am very good at what I do but the time has come for a change in careers. A typical day for me at Walgreen's would be customer service, stocking merchandise, checking inventory status of merchandise, price changes, cash handling, merchandising.
I have inquired a vast knowledge of the variety of merchandise we carry, especially in the OTC (over the counter) medications.
The management team for Walgreen's varies, they switch managers around from store to store every few months or years. I have had some great managers and some not so great ones. Some of the managers there are just there for a paycheck and to be a body, while others are there for this is their career.
My co-workers are some of the best people I have met, and I have formed life-long friendships with, there are a few there that have no clue on what they are doing, even after you explain it to them a few doesn't times.
The hardest part of the job is the physical aspects, not as young as I use to be, so being on my feet all day takes a toll on ones body,
The best part of the job is when I get to form relationships with my regular customers, I get to see them, know them by name, get to know their families.
policies changing all the time... use to be a more family run company... has become too corporate, they don't seem to care about the employees too much anymore
need better direction from ownership would help this company grow

I worked closely with vendors and at times individual customers to ensure the store I was in and the surrounding stores were always in stock with the items that people wanted and needed. I worked with vendors and brought the inventory down to a level of near non-existent overstock and worked to decrease costs and increase profitability.
