Book Store Associate (Former Employee) – Dayton, OH – February 28, 2018
My typical day consisted of helping students find their course materials. Completing students purchases as a cashier. I stocked inventory when needed. And I also acted as the receptionist when the actual receptionist needed a break.
ENERGY MANAGEMENT INTERN (Former Employee) – Dayton, OH – February 20, 2018
We worked 3 days per week. Performed energy assessments on commercial properties and prepared reports detailing energy management suggestions for these properties. These suggestions are mainly in the areas of HVAC and controls.
learn new things everyday.
New equipment, a lot of document to read and write
I really enjoyed my time at Sinclair. I feel that they really invested a lot of time and energy into helping me succeed and for that I am forever grateful. The type of education you acquire with the low cost really makes for a great experience all the way around.
A Great place to work. My position as an Office Assistant at Sinclair Community College was temporary, through the Federal Work Study program. The particular office I assisted had amazing professionals and students that I had the pleasure meeting and working with.
Very relaxing, professional atmosphere with great staff
Book Store Cashier (Former Employee) – Dayton, OH – October 22, 2017
Had A really good time working in the book store. My manager was excellent, Really laid back culture. Everyone was very respectful and very helpful. The rush season was a little hectic but once things slowed down things were very laid back. Everyone was very professional and nice.
Nice cafeteria to eat at, good staff and work ethics
Limited room for advancement, Low hours, They only open up for full time employment every so often.
Going to work everyday was a true pleasure. The student body was very diverse in culture as well as age. The hardest part of this job was leaving. There are several campuses with which to teach at and scheduling your courses was never a problem.
I would teach approximately two or three classes every day of the week and a few hours on Saturday. The variety of classes in Mathematics that I taught ranged from developmental classes to upper level calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations.
I worked in at Sinclair Community College at a prison so things were a little unique compared to a normal experience. The main reason I am leaving is because I found a full-time job and I can't work the hours they want me to.
Some people are fantastic but management are corrupt.
Administrative Assistant II (Former Employee) – Dayton, OH – September 1, 2017
Management is corrupt all the way to the top. There's no confidentiality and morale is very low. Support staff are looked down upon and fear that they will lose their job. No stability. It's very disappointing because the corrupt outway all the great faculty and staff who care for the students.
The culture here is simple... If you need help with something, there is someone who can help you with your problem and it is easy to find that person. There is a lot of positive energy at this school. No place is perfect. Sinclair has it's flaws like any place, but is overall a very healthy work environment.
A good community college environment but limited advancement
Annually contracted faculty (Current Employee) – Sinclair Community College, Dayton OH – August 11, 2017
I enjoyed the teaching environment and the freedom you have to do your job. Work schedules are great. No research and publication is required, it is strictly teaching. You can pursue committee and grant work if you choose too. The work environment is very political and advancements are not based on merit but politics and agendas in my experience.
Good hours and schedules, good benefits, salary is fair
very political and promotions are not based on merit but politics
Mail Room / Courier (Former Employee) – Dayton, OH – July 31, 2017
I worked part time in the mail I enjoyed my co-workers, I delivered mail to other counties college campus and books. I enjoyed my job for the short time I was there and if I had not decided to re-located to California then I would still be working there.
