Reports to: Engineering Manager; Lead Engineer
Work Week: Monday – Friday
Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches, notes or prototypes.
Oversees product design activities often involving multi-discipline work groups.
Makes production drawings, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
Makes any adjustments or changes to drawings necessary or desired.
Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software to create finished designs from sketches or notes.
Resolves manufacturing issues.
Generates computer aided manufacturing databases as required for production.
Oversees generation of bill of materials and routes.
Oversees creation of new purchased parts as required by design effort.
Creates charts for representation of statistical data.
Creates drawings according to drafting and SAC standards.
Maintains and creates product manuals per SAC standards.
Candidates should be an experienced hands-on individual with strong communication skills, proficient with 3D Modeling CAD software (SolidWorks is a plus), experience with AutoCAD, 1+ years design experience in a manufacturing setting and hydraulic and sheet metal knowledge. A 2 or 4 year engineering degree and a post offer physical and drug screen required.
