If you're interested in any kind of CAREER, JOB SECURITY, EMPLOYER FAIRNESS, LOYALTY and HONESTY, do not work here.
I worked for Sitel for over 1 year. I was promoted to Mentor for what's called OCP, which is where you go for your actual on-the-phone training. I was quickly promoted out of that to a real BS position called Product Specialist, who basically does all the work of a Supervisor with none of the pay.
My campaign outsourced overseas with VERY little notice and a lot of agents were fired or nitpicked into quitting and I was "removed" for completely unfair, unjustified and illegal reasons.
Sitel has a very plain attendance policy. After 3 absences (where you call in for either personal or sick), you are issued first a VERBAL WARNING. After the nest absence/occurrence, you are issued a WRITTEN WARNING. This is followed by an addition PRE-FINAL WRITTEN WARNING, followed by FINAL WRITTEN WARNING, then after yet another you are let go.
It is Sitel policy that this MUST be followed before an agent can be terminated due to attendance.
After my campaign was outsourced and my position was removed (all PS and Mentor positions were, in an attempt to drive off those of us with higher pay) I was assigned to a new training class for a new campaign.
I missed the first day due to a previously diagnosed illness, which I had discussed with management. I called and got approval to miss.
I attended class the next day. No warnings were given, no coaching was offered. It is important to note I had impeccable attendance and had never, NEVER even been issued a VERBAL WARNING, the lowest form of coaching for attendance.
I missed again because of car trouble and was "removed" because of my attendance. I had been WELL within the attendance guidelines and this was uncalled for, unfair and against policy. I asked to be put in a new class. They said they would consider it. I was never called back.
