Great workplace
Technical Support (Former Employee), Newcastle, Jurys Inn – April 19, 2013
Pros: central to town
Cons: sometimes working really late
The training is 2 weeks and is great to get you ready to go onto the floor. You can sit anywhere on the floor and remain there for the day taking incoming calls from customers experiencing problems with their sky equipment. You help with technical duties and either resolve issues over the phone or book engineers etc. The management are friendly and – more... approachable, and the floor has a great all round atmosphere. The bonus is a great insentive too. – less

Enjoyable and Rewarding Company
Broadband and Sky Talk Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee), Carnegie Campus, Dunfermline – February 5, 2013
I personally loved working for Sky and would highly recommend working for Sky to friends and family. A typical day in the job would consist of many different call types based on the customer's needs at the time and help they required, but also in a relaxed environment where everyone is there to help you if you need it and everyone is so friendly and – more... positive. I learned a lot of different skills while working for Sky including how to handle difficult calls regarding customers issues with anything that had went wrong with their equipment, how to portray myself over the phone to appeal to the customer and make them feel relaxed with me dealing with their particular call on that day and have faith in what I was about to do to help them out. The management within the company was second to none, I particularly feel I had an excellent, respected and liked manager, the managers were always willing to help and would not hesitate in doing so even managers that were managing other teams, my co-workers were great also within the team and outside my own personal team. We all felt like a family within our team and our co-workers outside our team were always very friendly too. The most enjoyable part of the job was definitely that feeling you get once you've helped a customer to the extent where I personally was the person that was able to finally make the customer happy and have their equipment working like it should after numerous days or even weeks of problems, that and the constant changes within the company, Sky always had something new either every few days or every week to keep things fresh and keep making the company better. – less

Daily Basis
Home Services and Supply (Current Employee), Croydon – December 9, 2012
Pros: lunches paid for
Cons: long hours
Everyday is a challenge and to find a solution is usually solved alone. In some cases this can be time comsuming as a second opinion maybe required, but a great way to show determination and my full potential.

I believe I am priveledged that my role has its rewards as going above and beyond does not become tedious. It also makes it fun to learn new – more... things whilst being on the field and boost my confidence.

Being on standby is the biggest challenge I face as technical faults can always occur and as person that genuinely puts others first, all errors are rectified at the earliest convenience. – less

Sky
Sales Retention Operative (Former Employee), Dunfermline West – November 23, 2012
Pros: full sky package, good pension and healthcare benefits
Cons: working environment sometimes was too warm
I would take inbound calls from customers handling various enquiries regarding their accounts; primarily retaining their custom and sustaining their future custom through the promotion and sales of Sky products and services.
Key selling techniques and customer profiling were the most interesting skills I've improved on during my time with the company.
Management – more... in sky encouraged me to be proactive in my approach to the business and in addition valued my opinion in better ways of working and best practice.
My team mates were a joy to work with and made work pleasurable, even in the most trying of times.
Taking cancellations where I had no control over the customer choice was the hardest part of the job. – less

fun and exciting environment to work within
Example: Sales Executive (Former Employee), Livingston – August 6, 2012
Pros: fun environment and easy to recieve help
Cons: example: long hours
I would answer callsfrom customers and re sell the value of products and sell neew products and services which customers would like. I learned a lot about what the company had to offer customersm and how things were processed. My co workers were always helpful and fun to be around and would always be happy to help whenever help was needed. The hardest – more... part of the job was trying to convince customers to kkeep their services with sky when they had previous issues or wanted to save money due to competitor offerings. I enjoyed speaking with different people each day and also the fun and new things I learned with myteam – less

Fun, challenging
Sales Advisor (Former Employee), Newcastle – July 16, 2012
Cons: long hours for the job
Sky was a good company to work for. The reason why I left sky for was because it wasn't the job for me. The company does have some really training and you can progress in your job role. I worked on the phones selling the sky products to brand new customers. We had weekly targets to hit and runned incentives to the colleagues who pushed them selfs and – more... worked hard.

I was working at sky until I found the right career for me. I have very interested in Nursery Nursing. I have been for inductions to Newcastle college as I'm interested in doing an Apprenticeship – less

Freelance Sales Trainer (Former Employee), UK – June 30, 2012
Pros: tours of the sky studios
Cons: long hours
Induction and Field training. I learnt about Offcom and regulations regarding Broadband. Management supportive but left you to do the job. Support was always on the end of the phone for co workers, & support staff.Hardest part of the job was knowing that the majority of people wouldnt stay for longer than a month. The most enjoyable part was getting – more... feed back from the delagates of there success – less

Vendedora Externa (Former Employee), Santos, SP – June 3, 2013
– less
