Smoke Rise Country Club - Lifeguard Job Description
JOB TITLE: Lifeguard
Under the direct supervision of the Pool Supervisor, the Lifeguard carries out the policy of Smoke Rise Country Club and is responsible for the safety of the members and their guests while at the pool facility.
Must be at least 16 years of age with a minimum of one year high school level education completed and hold one of the following current certifications: YMCA Lifeguard Training, American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. CPRO & First Aid.
Supervise recreational swimming under safety regulations as outlines in "rules and regulations."
Treat minor accidents as necessary according to the Health Standing Orders, advising the Supervisor when the services of a physician are needed and keep incident records.
Bring to the Supervisor's attention, conditions of practices which might prove a threat to the maintenance of health and safety of the membership and their guests.
Participate in training sessions as scheduled.
Maintain water chemistry tests as scheduled and report any concerns to the Supervisor
Take cognizance of personal safety, avoiding undue fatigue and risk
Maintain good public relations with the members and their guests
Observe all regulations which pertain to him/her as staff members
Use preventative lifeguarding techniques to minimize or eliminate hazardous situations
Is responsible for application of any information in the Lifeguard Manual
Must report to work 15 minutes prior to schedule
Required to wear provided Lifeguard shirt or uniform
Call supervisor when going to be late (1 hour lead time) or absent (24 hour notice)
Carryout the Smoke Rise Country Club mission at all times
