Coordinator (Former Employee) – Washington, DC – September 18, 2016
Your time and expertise will not be respected at this organization under it's current management. This is not a fun or encouraging work environment. If you are on the programs team you will be so overworked it's nauseating and with very little compensation. There is no room for growth or advancement here. You will not be paid well. The board also does not respond or react when needed. This organizations doors are still open so that older, cis gay men can feel good about themselves and where they donate their money.
In an organization like this, I would normally say the youth are the pros, but by the time I left we didn't even have any youth to serve. They saw through it all.
Art Project Assistant (Former Employee) – Washington, DC – July 17, 2012
This job was an internship for my senior graduation requirements. Their working environment is GLBTS friendly and the clients were youths who needed counseling, mentors and or a place to meet and greet. There were a lot of projects to complete and at the same time the works would be fun.
