Business Development Associate, New York, NY - April 25, 2013
A typical day at work was spent supporting our strategic account managers, which involved managing platform activity, writing messaging, editing outreach decks, collaborating on wrap reports, and participating in strategic brainstorming sessions.
I learned how to balance several different projects and clients at once, while maintaining a critical eye in regard to the technology (focusing on what information would better serve our clients and influencers).
The management style at SocialChorus was a great fit for me. I was able to build upon skills that I already possess (writing, research), as well as develop entirely new skill sets as a result of my being challenged and pushed outside of my comfort zone.
My co-workers were incredibly supportive during my time at SocialChorus. As the newest member of the team, I felt that they really wanted to help me do my best in all aspects of my role. There was never a moment when I was afraid to ask a question or express that I was confused about something. Our team was very close, and I feel lucky that I was able to experience the sort of co-worker relationship that we all had with each other.
The hardest part of the job was definitely having to switch gears and be on top of multiple responsibilities at once. I had to wear multiple hats at any given time and be sure that I was balancing my workload efficiently, not letting one project interfere with time I needed to spend on others.
The most enjoyable part of the job was having the chance to be creative and think outside of the box. Working in an environment like SocialChorus made me feel comfortable giving my input and building confidence in my ability to strategize.
