Domestic Violence Advocate (Former Employee) –  Milwaukee, WIJune 5, 2015
Intakes with assaulted, battered victims. Recommendations for resources, homeless shelters and outreach programs to victims in need of help. Co-workers, there were two. It was a small agency, getting on its feet. The hardest part of the job was not seeing the victims follow through with their cases after filing for restraining orders. The most enjoyable part of the job was the few successful cases.
Pros
Successful cases
Cons
Restraining Orders being dropped by victims.

Transportation Specialist (Former Employee) –  Gary, INJuly 31, 2013
At Sojourner Truth a typical day at work was just easy going. I learned a lot while working for Sojourner as far far as dealing with people with different backgrounds physically and mentally. Management needs to be handle better. Got along well with all my coworkers we all worked together . Their really was no hard part about being an employee of Sojourner. The most enjoyable part of the job was just working with the clients and the community helping the ladies with their different problems and helping them find housing.

Support Services Associate (Current Employee) –  Gary, INJuly 29, 2013
Typical day is heavy lifting, interacting with the public and providing encouragement to those that have had live happen situations. Provide food to the community, take inventory, sort donations of all sorts, attend meeting and lead the team to excellence

Volunteer (Former Employee) –  Gary, INJuly 2, 2013
Sojourner Truth House helped me learn to work with others. Some of my responsibilities included serving food, entering information into a computer system about the people that came in, filing papers, cleaning up, etc.
