Health Assistant/Paraeducator (LVN) (Current Employee) –  Fairfield, CAOctober 6, 2014
I love working with students, but it seems like nothing important can get done unless 10 different people with 10 different ideas decide on it. Very ineffective. Lots of gossip.

Substitute Para Educator (Former Employee) –  Fairfield, CAJuly 26, 2013
As a substitute, your never guaranteed a job everyday, but through Solano County, I got called for a job everyday.
Some schools were better than others. The hardest part was going to a classroom where there was no teacher. Things were disorganized. The best part was substituting in a classroom that had a routine that was easy to follow.

Special Education Paraeducator (Current Employee) –  Fairfield, CAOctober 6, 2012
A typical day is one on one teaching with a child with moderate to severe disabilities. Teaching the child based on his or her own individual education plan and guiding each student to reach their full potential. I have learned from this job that every child is unique and learn in different ways. The most challenging part of my job is seeing my students act out because they are frustrated and don't know how to communicate their needs. The most enjoyable part is watching the students flourish and learn how to succeed despite their disability.
Cons
low pay
