General Manager, East Syracuse - June 26, 2015
As a General Manager was kept very busy running a 24/7 store. Was challenging at times, but over time got things running smoothly and better than it had ever ran before. The District Manager was an absolute nightmare and made the job difficult. Constant micro managing and interference from her in front of staff and customers was an embarrassment to the company and myself. Bonuses were taken away within my first 3 months with the company and they never made up for it as promised. Benefits were ridiculously expensive, and annual raises were a joke if they were even given at all. They started an annual company retreat and actually had to pay everyone to attend because nobody would go otherwise. The district manager was so cheap she didn't even want to part with gift certificates or gift cards when I asked for them for my staff. Most of the customers were awesome, my staff was great, even the vendors were okay. But the headache of dealing with upper management doesn't make this company worth it. Too much drama, and it's not from the store.
