Poor senior management
Assistant Manager, Fountain, CO - November 28, 2015
Went into the store location thinking I was going to help them rise from how far they have fallen. Worked with them for seven months as an assistant manager. The senior management refused to listen to any ideas from any assistant manager on how to improve the store, kept blaming only me for their stores continuing downfall, told me I would have to resign from assistant manager or quit because they did not want to pay for firing me, and gave me one day to think about if I wanted to stay with them or quit. I kept critical late percentages down (0% - 6%) by motivating my team, helping them where they needed help and were falling behind, reminding them of our goals and letting them know they needed to keep up the sense of urgency. Kept my labor 18% or below like they wanted. Yet according to senior management I was not doing as such even though the numbers do not lie. The shifts are constantly hostile with each other, blaming each other for what was not done for that shift when they came in. Our lead in the kitchen constantly was cussing at the assistant managers, physically attacking employees, and either leaving when wanted or showing up late. This person was a favorite and nothing was ever done regardless of how many employees put in complaints.
My schedule constantly had me working during my school hours which I brought up multiple times and finally had to bring up many issues to HR due to senior leadership not wanting to do their job. Once the report went through it was severely mistreated. No one from HR got in touch with me. I was notified by my senior leadership about the HR report then they were nice enough to cut my hours in half, started telling me I needed to find a different job because I just did not fit in with my style of leading (I was not mean enough, I did tasks myself and helped the employees on my shift complete tasks when they needed help instead of just telling them to do it and watch), and that I was not training my employees enough (even though my employees on my shift were the only ones that could do every job in that store). The store manager makes paperwork disappear for the GM when it conflicts with this persons view or is needing it to disappear.
