High School Job
Cook/Janitorial (Former Employee), San Antonio, TX –
Pros: free meals
Cons: poor management
Being a cook, you have to learn to take orders from customers, cook food from menu, keep kitchen stocked and clean. I learned many house hold things form it. The Management could of been better, and not have had favoritism. Working with others depended on their moods. Hardest part was constant food rush with night shift, but made it go by quick. I enjoyed – more...  preping things for next shift. – less

First Job
Car Hop (Former Employee), Gilbert, AZ –
I really enjoyed my first job. I would say it was my hardest because it was my first. I loved my managers not only because they were nice, they were stern. We had a businesslike frienship and I love it.
The hardest part of the job was closing, because we had to clean alot of machines, and at the same time help customers. My favorite part of the job – more...  was mixing drinks. I learned from them that work is not all play, yeah you can enjoy yourself, but you should take your job seriously. – less

Great place to work and meet new people.
carhop (Former Employee), Ingleside, TX –
Pros: free drinks, discounted food, long breaks
Cons: healthcare
My typical day of work at Sonic was going in usually about 6 am and getting out at 2pm. I learned how to work board and count and give back the right amount of change without a cash register. The management and co-workers at Sonic were amazing. They were a good team to work with. The hardest part of my job was rush hours. We had morning , lunch, and – more...  drink rush. It was really hard especially when we only had a maximum of 5 people working. The most enjoyable part was meeting new customers and having a good time while working. – less

Fast paced, woking with others, connecting with customers
First Assistant Manager (Current Employee), Fort Smith, AR –
When i come into work i have to count my drawer for the day and be sure that all of the money ran for that shift so far is there. I then have to set positions for each shift and perform pre-shift meetings in order to motivate the crew. During these pre-shift meetings i am also able to go over each employees position for the day and set goals for the – more...  end of the day. I also have to run a position while being able to mange the rest of my crew. At the end of the day I create a deposit to run to the our bank. I calculate labor to see what percentage of profit made goes to the employees. Ever since i have been a manager there i have always been respected by all of the employees, I try to be the best I can be at any job i do. As a manager I try to work as part of the team while also being a leader. The most difficult part of my job is dealing with irate customers, although I can almost make every customer happy, there are some that simply cannot be pleased. Some irate customers can cause a day to become stressful. The best part of my day is that i try to create a stress free environment. My crew works as a team and we like to have fun. Happy employees make better workers, I am able to do this but I am also able to keep a more professional manor over the crew – less

Partner (Former Employee), Fayetteville, NC –
Quality of life was something that is not cultured, need to be more of a balance and more accountability on subordinate managers.

Fast paced car hop
Car Hop (Former Employee), Mesquite, TX –
Pros: 50% all food, drinks only while on break. 30 minute break.
Cons: conflict and choas
A typical day when you walk in the door. Get apron on and change dispenser. Start delivering orders immediately depending on how busy location is. There is a high chance of conflict between other co-workers. Hardest part of the job is the pressure you have to work under. Most enjoyable part is the tips.

Hrad job to work at.
Cashier/Crew Mmber (Former Employee), El Paso, TX –
Pros: lots of food.
Cons: hardly any time off.
Long hours usually everyday, and there was hardly a time of not being busy. Very hard to find time off for school, or anything. Management pushed the employees very hard, and made it very clear that the store would be good at what we were doing.

The Sonic all depends on the franchise. Lost some respect for Sonic due to new franchise owners
Management (Current Employee), Joplin, MO –
Pros: vacation and health benefits for upper management.
Love leading the team to success. I go to work and set daily goals for the crew(delivery times, labor, and food cost). We set up indidual goals for all shifts throughout the day. The crew is awesome and willing to work hard and motivated for advancement.

I came to work, greeted everyone and looked on the board to see what i would be doing that day. My manager was always in a good mood and talked to everyone with respect. I got along with my co-workers very well. I enjoyed interacting with the customers.
